I don't want to hear the usual "so you can use it as a spoon" answer....It totally sucks as a spoon...you'll be scooping for a week just to get an ounce of slurpy.

some kids take the lid off and eat the slurpy with the spoon like thing.

When you get to the bottom of the slurpy and the straw is not that effective, you can take off the lid and scoop the remaining slush out.

Since The Slurpy is so thick, u have the option of using a spoon or the straw. I guess it's called a "spraw' since the spoon/fork is called a "spork".

The straw has a spoon-like extension so one may 'dip' spoonfuls out of their cup rather than slurp through the straw to avoid 'brainfreeze.'
