You are kind of contradicting your self just a bit, one time you say you are doing the same thing as her when she was your age and you don't care about the choices now but you don't want to end up like her. Not trying to sound smart here but change your ways and be your own self and not follow in her foot steps if you don't want to be like her.
I have some what followed my mom and my daughter is following my foot steps so I guess we can't be to bad. Why are you so afraid of following her? You do love her or else you wouldn't be following her to a point. Is her life that bad?

Most people whether it be male or female want to break away from parents and assert their own individuality. There is nothing wrong with it. If you find that you are making the same mistakes that your mom did maybe the problem is that you are still young and need to make mistakes in order to learn from them. This doesn't mean you are destined to become your mother years down the line. Maybe she mad the same kinds of mistakes but your mistakes much like your life are your own. You have pinpointed the problem now its up to you to fix it.

You are not alone girl. Million of women everywhere in the world have this phobia of turning into their mother. The reality hit worse when you get children and start treating them like she treated you. You run your home the way she did? Gal its all a part of growing up. When you were young your mom prepared you to handle life her own way and that is why you are acting like her. Embrace it and accept it. This is the only way you will learn to change or life with it.

Hi, well it could be that since your mother and daughter you instinctively chose the same things. But I find more often than not that children tend to differ from their parents. For ex: If a mother never went out of her house, the child will want to always travel and see the world.

Isn't that funny!? The fact that you are afraid of being like her, or seeing you are becoming like her, shows her influence on your life. You must be in your 20's. What you do is improve on what you learned from her. You may not like the way she handled a situation, but now that you are older, you probably are understanding why she dealt the way she did.
AND, don't worry.......you are you! We all are influenced by our parents, good and bad. Wait for the day your kid says,"I don't want to be like you!" Believe me, it is coming!

Well, the choice is yours. Identify the things about her that you don't like, and don't want for yourself, and make a conscious effort to avoid being like that.

its normal, i dont think its so much the fear of turning into your mom as it is the fear of growing older. Its going to be ok just dont marry someone who's exactly like your dad.
