Check out ''quickest way to lose weight" on this site. You should try that once. It comes back but not all of it. Then it appears that certain foods swell in the stomach. Raw fruits and vegetables do not, but dry foods like bread absorb water and swell up.
I have always been thin but never liked having even a little of a pot belly. Of course toning the muscles help somewhat.

As long as you have a great healthy eating and exercise plan you will be fine for life. If you do not, this is a warning where your body gains weight. Just to let you know the most dangerous place you can store weight is around your tummy.
For some people, if you isolate one region, it does not necessarily mean that region will only benefit. It depends upon a number of factors. So consider this healthy eating plan and add abdominals reps into your daily routine. Try the follow:
50 elbow to knee
50 crunches
50 leg lifts
50 45 degree tummy pulls
Make sure your form is correct
Committment, dedication and total change of behaviour, it's a big ask and people don't understsand that it is really hard but once you are in the zone you can do this.
If you want to do this it is for life so you need to totally change your way of eating and exercising. This is not a diet rather than a healthy eating plan for life. So no more talking diet cause it means time limit. Stop making some major mistakes wake up earlier and get active earlier your metabolism is sluggish and needs to be woken up this is half your problem.
Here are the golden rules:
Initially cut down to 1200 calories.
Exercise 6 times per week for 1 hours a day. Do three weight sessions and three cardio sessions. No gym involved.
Don't eat carbs after 4pm, never eat carbs within 2 hours of exercise or within 1 hour of exercise.
Drink 3 litres of water per day. You can have a green tea at the end of the day.
Limit your fruit in take to 2 pieces per day.
Never eat dinner after 6pm.
Adopt of low GI eating plan this is sustainable for life!
Make low fat dairy choices
Follow this menu plan as a suggestion:
Breakfast 7am - 1 cup hot water w lemon
20 minutes later have a bowel of oats w water (no honey) OR
fruit salad w low GI soy yogurt
Snack 10am - pear or apple (both low GI)
Lunch 12.30pm - multigrain sandwich w 50g tuna & salad (no butter)
Snack 3pm - low GI yogurt OR skim berry smoothie (no honey or banana) plenty of ice, 1/2 cup skim milk & 1/4 cup yogurt
Dinner 5.30pm - 120g grilled lean meat/fish/prawns/tofu patties (not fried) w spinach salad & mixed vegies (no whites, carbs) OR 3 egg white/soy omlette with ham, cheese and tomato
Snack - 1 scoop of low cal low fat ice cream (if hungry)
Exercise is must be intense. Refer to www.bodybuilding.com for your weights routine. Never do weights two consecutive days have a cardio day in between.
Cardio needs to include running, go hard up stair wells and cycling. You get the most benefits from exercise when your body is totally fatigued and this is when you see changes.
To maintain you can increase calories to 1500 and reduce exercise sessions to 3-4 times per week. If weight creeps up again due to holiday period etc.. go back to 1200 cal and 6 sessions again.
Good luck it worked for me it can work for anyone.

Just do crunches, situps, reverse crunches, and any other ab exercise. The ab muscles can burn fat over your stomach, and another plus (probably the answer you're looking for) is doing these exercises makes your abdominals stronger and this makes you able to hold your internal organs in better. If your abs hold your organs well, you may never see a pudge again.

Winsor pilates abs video... you will see results in 2 weeks if you are already slim. you have to do it at least every other day, but it is only 20 minutes long.
It really slims the waist and helps to flatten your stomach if you're already fairly slim / normal.

Work out! The best way is to do ab workouts... classic or the fun kind like Tae Bo! Also, sucking in your stomach for a whole day equals doing about 1,000 crunches!

Exercise, exercise, exercise.
Diet, diet, diet.
Exercise like curl ups, jogs (which make you more cut in the stomach area).
Diet healthy foods, no junk food. Stomach is too often covered by excess fat.

People with diets rich in fiber tend to have less abdominal fat than people with diets low in fiber. So you can try eating lots of whole grains, fruits, etc. Also, good posture makes your abs stronger, so try to sit up straight instead of slouching and leaning back.

You can do situps but you'll only be building muscle BEHIND the fat. If your stomach does not have a lot of fat, try crunches.

Try doing sit ups. But it sounds to me like you are kind of obsessed by it, looks aren't everything
