In my religion,{Christian, Baptist} God forgives all if they bow their heads in prayer and ask for forgivness and sincerely mean it that they are sorry for their actions one sin is just as bad as the other.

No actually in Christian churches they will ex communicate you if you have an adulteress affair...Catholics especially are against this...God says in His Word that adulterers do not inherit the Kingdom of God....that's a harsh punishment...the only way that we can get a "pardon" if you will from that sentence is through the blood of Christ, He is the one that paid the price for our sins and adultery is one of them...its in the ten commandments....also as for other religions they do not accept it either their punishments tend to be a lot more harsh for example Islam they kill the woman and the man she had the affair with, and as for Jewish law it follows the Bible and they dont look lightly on the subject either...The difference between Jews and Christians are one thing....Jesus...they believe he was a great profit but not the Messiah...Anyhow that's another subject but the only type of religions that would say its ok to cheat are like cults....even wicken says not to cheat... (the bible says to stone a woman if she is caught cheating)

gg needs to go back to retake her Catechesis, she apparently was asleep during Catholic education. opraus finally gave the best Gospel-supported answer, with Carol M following up with several references throughout the Old and New Testaments. I liked opraus' answer because it was fairly short, supported by Gospel message. Carol helped to expand the understanding to pre-Christian and Jewish law. Rujchat K. gave a fair explanation in Islamic law, but below I provide an introduction to Sharia (1).
I hope that as human societies evolve, forgiveness which is preached if not always practiced by Christians should spread to Jewish and Islamic culture. Please forgive me, my Jewish brothers and sisters, since I do not know but very little about the Torah and any culture of forgiveness. I would appreciate the correction by any Jewish scholars, and Islamic too for that matter. Nonetheless, I have found a site to Talmud and references to adultery, which I shall provide (2) below:
By the way, isn't it ironic that many followers of Jesus, Son of Man who was exemplary in his humility, do not seem to have much humility?

Listen, repent of your sin of adultery, and your sins will be forgiven by Jesus. Then go and sin no more saith the Lord.
Just because someone is wearing across does not mean they are a christian. I am a christian, and because the cross was used to torture and crusify my savior, I will not wear a cross. It was not intended to wear so casually as jewerly. Woud you wear a gillateen on your neck?
You should wear your cross in your heart by living a life that is reflective of Jesus. Show him that what He went through for you wasn't all for nothing.
IF you are not born again, and lost with out Jesus in your life, I pray that you will accept Jesus today as your savior. If you are not a Christian, God will not hear your crys to Him, except for the invitaion to Jesus to enter into your heart and life. Adultery is forgivable but you must accept Jesus as your savior first and go and leave that former sinful life style behind you. Jesus knows if you re sincere or not when you come to Him.
Adultery is not ok, and it is not an income that God approves of. It is punnishable by death.
Exodus 20:14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.
Leviticus 20:10 And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbor's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.
Proverbs 6:32 But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.
Leviticus 19:29 Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.
Hosea 4:14 I will not punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit adultery: for themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people that doth not understand shall fall.
I hope this helps you leave that sinful life behind.

Yes in Islam, man and woman who commited adultery should be whipped if they are singles. But if the man is a husband and the woman is other man's wife they should be thrown by stones until they died.Islamic teaching spoke that adultery should be witnessed by at least two men or 4 women. If there is no witness, the accused man and woman should make an oath or swear in the name of Allah Almighty..If they told a lie may God gives a hard punishment. to them.

In Christianity the punishment and judgment is left up to God...although many Christians like to try to play God. Adultery is a sin...and so are a lot of other things.
As for porn stars wearing a cross...artist Robert Mapplethorpe once displayed a piece of art that consisted of a Crucifix in a jar of urine. It (like a porn star's cross) was probably not an affirmation of their Christianity.

adultery is wrong and sinful, no matter what religion. Jesus said that Moses gave a decree of divorce, because of their hardness of heart, but in the beginning it was not so."
There are consequences, if there are children involved, usually the children have troubles when they get married. So any man or woman should think about their children before committing adultery.

In ancient Jewish tradition, both the man and woman could be executed. That's in the bible, in the old testament. I'm not familiar with modern Jewish traditions, though.
Christianity is based on the premise that judgement will be carried out by God himself, on judgement day. Therefore, if an adulterer goes before judgement without ever having repented of his/her behavior, they face eternal death in hell. And that's far worse than dying on earth.
And just because people wear crosses, it doesn't make them a Christian. I decorate my house on Christmas with a big star of David, but I'm not a Jew. Symbols are only symbols. They have meaning, but they are still only objects.
I'd be suprised if Muslim tradition wasn't similar to Jewish tradition. Muslims and Jews, despite their religious differences, are actually quite similar, culturally. In fact, a lot of Israelis are Arabs, and not Jews.

Dude, just because somebody wears a cross doesn't make them a christian, nor does someone saying I'm a christian make it necessarily so.. As a servant and student of The Triune God most high, who came to earth as a man, Jesus. The penalty for adultery in Christianity is most severe.
It is death, Eternal seperation from God. But the Good news if you repent and turn from your wicked ways and ask The Lord Jesus to forgive you, accepting him as your lord and saviour then you will be forgiven.

In Christianity the punishment is hell, unless you get a get out of hell free card which is very easy to get. There is no punishment while you're alive unless you're orthodox or catholic in which case you say rosaries and crap like that. Not sure about judaism, i think its about the same way.
in islam the woman may be beaten, tortured or killed depending on what country she lives in. there is no punishment for men. in fact the muslim concept of heaven is that each man gets 40 virgins as a reward (for killing non-muslms, I guess). Bad break for the virgins in heaven, though. It seems if you're a muslim woman and you don't get raped in this life you will in the next.

In the Old Testament, a woman would be stoned for committing adultery. Now, in most Christian denominations, adultery is considered a sin and if you commit it you probably need to contact your local clergyman and he will lead you on a path of repentance. But, in general they don't stone people anymore
