I get reoccurring reddish hives, more like red spots with no particular shapes all over my body; they come and go through out the day. I have visited the doctor several times and I am taking a lot of itch medication but I still have severe itching at night. This has been going on for a week now. I don’t know the cause or an effective treatment. Help!!!!!!

Visit an allergist! It sounds like you're reacting to something. Until you can get in, just use a hydrocortisone cream to calm the itching and redness, and take Benadryl.

Sorry to hear it, it sounds quite annoying.
However, suggesting ITCH medications for the symptoms of the problem...and not getting to the ROOT of what is causing it- is not a solution...it's a band aid approach.
I'd go to another doctor...get a second opinion/perhaps a walk in clinic could help. Certain skin problems do tend to itch more at night...so keep some Aveeno Anti-Itch Cream or Calamine lotion in the fridge to use at night especially, as when you apply it cold it feels much better. Good luck!

Think back. Did you change laundry detergent recently? I bought a cheap one one time at Dollar Store and I was broken out for 2 weeks before I discovered what was happening.

It would be good to see an allergist about this, as you may also be allergic to something else. Try new detergent first.
Good luck to you!

You are having an allergic action to something. You need to go see a specialist, so they can help you determine what it is. Stop scratching!! Use aveeno for the itching. My daughter uses the ointment and it helps her alot. She has a skin condition that I am told she might grow out of, but yet they can't figure out what it is. Good Luck To Ya!!

This sounds like an allergy to me. Have you eaten any new foods lately? Or taken new medications? What about new soaps or shampoos?
Try and think of anything new that you've been introduced to and eliminate it from your life.
This happened to me once and it was a new medication.
Hope

I agree. See an allergist or a dermatologist. Most regular MDs do not do very well with allergy symptoms.
