Bible-loving Christians quote that God endorses marriage between only one man and one woman, but the bible says that marriage is between one man and as many wives as a man wants or can support.

The Bible forbids women to have sex with animals but is silent about the issue of men ******* animals. Why?

the Bible says that a woman who is raped deserves to be violated if she doesn't scream loud enough for all to hear. Terrible.....

Can anyone give more examples of sexism in the bible?

The BIBLE speaks just as clearly about lesbianism as it does homosexuality.

Rom 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves:
Rom 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
Rom 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
Rom 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.
Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Rom 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Rom 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Rom 1:31 Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

The same is true for a man that is true for a woman, GOD is no respector of persons.

Lev 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
Lev 18:23 Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.

Lev 20:15 And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast.

For good measure for those who constantly ask where in the BIBLE is homosexuality condemned:

Lev 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Regarding a woman being raped and not crying out loud enough:

Deu 22:25 But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her: then the man only that lay with her shall die:
Deu 22:26 But unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing; there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death: for as when a man riseth against his neighbor, and slayeth him, even so is this matter:
Deu 22:27 For he found her in the field, and the betrothed damsel cried, and there was none to save her.

Where do you get this stuff? None of what you said is true. The bible condemns all forms of Beastiality: Ex.22:19
The scripture in Deuteronomy 22 does not say that about rape. It means if a woman does not cry for help. Basically if she is a willing partner in an adultery.

The bible actually does condone marriage between one man and one woman. There were only a few people in the bible who had multiple wives. Read 1 Timothy 3:2

And what about the lesbianism thing, right? Well, read Romans 1:26 and then stop spreading slanderous lies.

I'm assuming you got your information from an atheist or humanist bent on twisting biblical scripture to make the bible seem evil. Read it for yourself and read the interpretations of the words in the strongs concordance because some words in the bible can be interpreted different ways and you need to understand the real meaning of these words and scriptures.

Any sexism recorded in scripture simply reflects the actual state of society at the time, and does not indicate that either God or His inspired writers are sexist. Your examples reflect obsolete Old Testament events which have been fulfilled and set aside ever since Jesus Christ died and rose again from the dead. The authority for such matters today is the Church, which speaks definitively on the sinfulness of all such acts, done either by men or women. There's a lot to understand here. Ashley, the Bible is not silent on these issues. God does not need to endorse something He created. Not only that, but the bible says plainly that man was not to have multiple wives. That was in the law of the OT. The Bible says nothing of women deserving rape. The Bible also says that a man shall not lie with any beast. If you could get me some verses, I'd be happy to talk with you some more. God Bless.

It does condem homosexuality in both women and men. As for humans ******* animals i am not quite sure, but it can't be right for either. Sexism runs rampent throughout the bible. Women are always being treated unfairly. In the story of Lot visiting a village he comes across a man who is willing to give his daughters to be violated to a whole town of men, just so Lot isn't violated by the men. How could a dad do that to his own daughter? Or look at how the apostle paul puts down women saying they should be silent and shouldn't preach at all.

I don't think anyone will give u a good answer because Christians doesn't know what the real bible is about anyway. It's been edited many times to fit societies in different times. And at best, they will say that all laws are in the Old Testament but they follow the New Testament.
If you said it is self-evident that no one should have sex with animals, or that lesbianism is a type of homosexuality and it's self-evident that the same applies for women too, you'll be laughed at.

But nice question anyway :)

It does say that a man shall not lie with a man, nor should a woman lie with a woman. I forget exactly were it say it,but, it's in there. And some middle eastern countries, it is legal for a man to have sex with an animal as long as it's a female animal. The bible is rife with sexism. It's a reflection of the society of the time where women were considered property.

You don't know the bible, perhaps you should read it. Jesus was very liberating to women and to children. I bet you did not know that. Children were seen then as a burden but he called them to him, even his disciples told people to stop bringing their babies and children to Jesus. Also the woman at the well. She was a Samaritan and at that time Samaritans were lower class people than the Jews, let alone a woman. What about the woman with the issue of blood? He healed a woman on the Sabbbath. He let a woman who was scorned in the town and lived a sinful life come in during a special dinner at a Pharisee's house. When the Pharisee saw this he was abhorred and thought to himself but Jesus answered his thoughts.

this is for darkman.
the Bible has not been edited many times. this is what athiest like to say. The dead sea scrolls are thousands of years old yet they are almost exact to the current bible. The real point of the Bible is to teach. It is the content not the context.
try reading it and then if your still confused ask a pastor to help you.
Funny. you Athiest never do that do you?
you only like to challange new believers but not those that are the teachers.
wait is it cuz you might be converted. (gasp)

I don't like that a lot of the bible stories seem to cast women in negative roles - the whore of babylon, Mary Magdalene is portrayed in a less than rosy light - even Eve seems to be cast as Man's downfall.

I think it is because the men who wrote the bible were really battling female based religions in many ways.

Peace!
