it doesn't turn your hair, it turns the dye in your hair

It's a chemical effect especially on dark to light blondes. To Avoid such problems always make sure your hair is soaked wet before enterining the pool. Also you can purchase a product called resolve by Joico or any clarifying shampoo and this should remove most of it. Mixing some baking soda with your shampoo will also help.

My hair is naturally blonde. It doesn't turn my hair green, but it does bleach it to a lighter blonde. Then when my hair grows in, I have darker roots and it looks like I dye it. Yuck!

Anyway, the chlorine is a bleach (like what you put in your washer). It is harsh and will discolor your hair.

just like bleach, the one used for highlights it lightens hair but its chemical properties vary from that of a salon so it does not lighten the hair compleetly therefore it turns green or in some cases orange.

If you color your hair then sometimes it will turn green, I swim nearly everyday, I have light brown hair and I never dye it and my hair never turns green. So basically it is just a chemical reaction with some people's hair color (or dye)

BECAUSE SOMEONE PUT TOO MUCH CHLORINE IN THE POOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF THE CHEMICALS ARE PUT IN AS DIRECTED, IT WILL NOT DAMAGE ANYONE'S HAIR.
