Unfortunately yesterday I responded with the same bad attitude that I was given, and I paid for it like usual. But, I really think that every time it gets better and I'm remembering the lessons learned a little more. The whole argument only lasted like ten minutes, and thats not too bad. I've given up whole days to anger.

But, I think the next time I'm going to have to try Love Pixxie's suggestion. Then it would only last ten seconds! ...If only it would rain... =)

As a bit of a perfectionist I take things going wrong personally which is such bs. I am trying to stop but it's hard and I've only just come to grips with this trait. I spend a lot of time biting my tongue.lol
It depends a lot on whether I have had a decent nights sleep and how I view life that day. Being well rested and relaxed helps cope.
Sometimes you have one series of craptastic adventures after another too. The stress will wear you down and then you just need to remember it isn't important to react it's important to act.
Now today is a brand new day isn't it? What a gift.

YOU? have a bad attitude? I don't believe it. I've never seen you be anything but sweet and patient. I thought you were a saint.

Sometimes it feels like other people's emotions are "catching". If I am in a room with alot of negative people grumbling and being mad, then sure enough I sometimes start to be grouchy or grumble too. It's like the emotions are contagious. But then when I walk away, out into the sunshine, and feel the mood lift and the energy change, it evaporates into nothing. Do you think "grumpy" is contagious?

It's hard to not take things so seriously in the heat of the moment, but as long you realize it at some point afterward, it's a step in the right direction. Had a moment like that myself today. Not my proudest moment, but what the hell, I'm human! I think we're tougher on ourselves than God is.

I believe I fall into the same category as you brother, as I am 49 and used to have long hair. I know what you mean, the most important thing to remember is no one "Makes" me mad, happy, sad etc. I am the one who decides to have an emotion. It doesn't mean that I am not allowed to have an emotional response to something, as my feelings are valid, it is how I react outwardly that I am responsible for. Changing one's inner vocabulary to say "I am angry because I don't like what I see" ...rather than saying "that makes me so mad" is a start. Sometimes it also helps to ask oneself why am I having this response, and just because I don't like a particular thing, does it mean it shouldn't be? Peace Man.

When feeling bad, it always helps to consider WHY you're feeling that way. You'll often realize how the feeling does not belong and you can more easily be rid of it.

Peace, hippie.

A good way to cool off:
go out in your slippers in the rain ... and nothing else.

And if it doesn't make you laugh, at least your neighbors will.

Hey Whatthebleep... I did do this and it is also something our good friend Bergice here posted in a great blog entry... what a guy! :)

I have bad days like that about three times a week lol!
but usually for me, all it takes is my husband saying, "wow you're in a bad mood". that will knock some sense into me. then I sit down, talk it out, and when I get it off my chest, I feel better.

Yeah.
Me as well.
But you have to realize, you cannot make everyone happy. You as a human being can only do so much, and then, you know, it's up to others to take up their own slack.
Hope tomorrow is a better day!

Meditate and try and hand it over to your higher power, mine is GOD! BTW I am an old hippie myself. Take care, let it go, I pray and try to calm my mind.
