By Protestant, I mean anyone who calls themself a "Christian" but who is not a Catholic or Eastern Orthodox.

Do you believe that 33,000 thousand conflicting religions that all call themselves "Christian" is what Jesus would have wanted, or do you believe that what it says in the bible that Jesus prayed that His Church be PERFECTLY ONE?

Maybe because they're too busy protesting as opposed to paying attention. God Bless you, from a staunch Roman Catholic (as opposed to an "American" Catholic, which is a contradiction terms since the Pope is in Rome).

I have no idea why Protestants dismiss what Jesus said in John Chatper 6. Jesus did not want 33,000 thousand conflicting religions that all call themselves "Christian". I believe what it says in the bible that Jesus prayed that His Church be perfectly one. I don't understand how so many "Christians" say they love God and Jesus but don't want to be apart of his one true Church.

Who says they do? The protestant movement was away from the extravigant excesses of the Roman Catholic church towards a more ascetic, less obviously corrupt church. The church has cleaned up it's act since the Jesuits were founded, and some of the same pitfalls have befallen the protestant movements, but that's the schismatic difference.

A better question is: why are you looking for differences, when looking for common ground is much more productive?

Because there is no compulsion in religion. They have the right to worship as they wish.

I'm not protestant, I am Baha'i, which believe Christ has come again, as a theif in the night - of course I do not worship as those who believe they are watchful, while they seek signs and wonders, and not humility as before. The Jewish community also was confused with the "First Coming" for such reasons.

Baha's believe the Faith of God will be perfectly one, and the pains of rebellion against it are what's been happening, but God has power to overcome every human rebellion. Be patient, it will happen as promised, but not as imagined. People must seek Truth for themselves, or they are no better than programmed computers.

When the protestants broke away more than the pastoral problem, there was an economic problem, the Pope used to collect 10% of everything, so they thought why not to get a piece of the pie.
Just convince yourself there is little love, no miracles that they can reproduced today and a good economical interest since the 1.800 lines became so cheap. Just business.

No I do not believe this is what he wanted. I do not understand why Protestants don't see. They are ignorant of their own beliefs. Christ founded his church on St. Peter and all the others came about as divisions of that same church. I pray one day for unity but I am not sure it will happen.

Why do Christians attack other Christians for choosing to worship in a slightly different way. Is that what God or Jesus would want?
