Sing what ever style you want. Sing like Whitney and Fantasia. Just do it with virtue. It is how you say it. So don't swear, don't sing about a degenerative subject and dress respectably. You don't have to be forced to sing gospel music.
God gave you gift. Use it. Remember the parable of the men who were given talents? The man who increased his talents was given a great reward and the one who did nothing with his talents was punished.

From what I've seen and heard of them, you're running with some low odds there. There's too much self-centeredness in the singers you refer to, and in the whole business. Singing Gospel is singing about God, not about yourself. And "hip-hop" and love songs ought never to disgrace God's presence. But, not being God myself, I guess He has the final say, so, . . . take your chances if you're feeling right enough. God Bless you.

Wasn't there something in -I think Psalm 100 - about making a joyous noise unto the Lord.
If your intent is to bring joy to others with your singing I think you will be just fine. I think it is what is in your heart that counts.
The fact that you believe in a God who judges you is the bottom line.
If you were not a God-fearing person it would not be an issue.

All acts that are not sinful and put Gods glory before our own are acceptable to God. Sing your heart out, but do it for His glory. That doesn't mean that everything you sing has to be about God, just that what you sing about does not go against His laws.

You can do whatever you want. I'm not God therefore I do not know what God would deem as 'acceptable'. If I were to tell you what is acceptable, then that would be me placing my own judgements upon you. Only you know the answer to your question in your heart.

Col. 3:16
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
As long as the worship is for Him, He loves it.

yes, because God wants us to follow his commandments and accept his son Jesus Christ and also have a good heart you know the we must have a great deal of love in us too because God is love.God has blessed each of these women with a voice and the world has them showing off their bodies because that's what make them money.

I guess it all depends on what acts you plan on doing. If you believe you have this kind of talent don't you have to assume that God gave it to you for a reason?

I have a feeling that the only one who will have anything to say about your singing are only the people on earth that get to hear you sing.
I'm not certain but, I think God will judge your deeds... not your pitch.
