Yes, in a glass bowl, near the food.

Change the water daily, when you change the water you can check to see if any fleas are in the water. They sometimes fall in.

You have a second bowl for kitten milk if you want as well.

Was the kitten nursed by mother cat? If so, and mother cat is no longer available, I would consider getting a water dropper. Just fill it with water (they're relatively small...and cheap) and place just the tip slightly inside the kittens mouth (not too far!) and slowly squeeze the water into its mouth. That would be my recommendation. Otherwise, just let the kitten drink out of a small bowl. We currently have three kittens (with mother cat still in tow), but we set out a bowl of water and they slowly but surely drink from that. They're eight weeks old now, so they've really become accustomed to it. They get the idea after a while. It's smooth sailing from there. Take care of the little one! Good luck to you!

As soon as you start feeding non-mother's milk items you need to provides water as well, or your kitten may dehydrate. Because your kitten is so young, (and therefore so small), I suggest a child's toy bottle. One made for dollys. Just make sure it has a soft nipple, and that the hole isn't so big that you drown the kitten. Also, just a reminder, about 1-2 weeks after your kitten has non-mother's milk foods, he/she will have they're first bowel movement, so be prepared.

I had a kitten once that was too young to be away from his mother, and I had to hand feed him also. If you have a pet store near bye you can go buy a little bottle and bottle feed him water or milk. milk preferably until he eats by himself, but you can also get milk that has the nutrients he needs at the pet store too. Or you can use a medicine dropper like the ones for infants to give it to him as well. But I would give him the milk until he can drink on his own. Just don't give him to much at a time because it can give him Diarrhea.

Your kitten should have a bowl of water next to it's bowl of milk. The kitten will learn itself that water is for drinking, the same as it would in the wild.

Yes, he needs water! Cats can get dehydrated very easily, always make sure he has ample water. Here's a tip, cats will drink more water if it is not right next to their food. Also you should start leaving out dry kitten food, he should start munching on that soon.

Always have a bowl of fresh water out for him; he'll help himself when he wants to.

Leave your shower door open.
I've had various kittens & cats over the years, & they've all preferred to drink water off the shower floor rather than from the nice fresh bowl I've left for them..weirdo's!
