I would give it to UNICEF; the United Nations Children Emergency Fund. 1) Because they are a real organization helping kids all over the world who need it the most.
2)They don't pick & choose who to help based on race, religion or any other factor other than genuine need.
3) Because the are one of the most effective charities in the WORLD. More than 90% of every dollar they collect actually goes to helping kids. No fancy offices or big cars. Just real people helping kids.

I work for Meals on Wheels so it would have to be that organization. I deliver to people who only have that one meal to eat and I know this for a fact. It is sad for me to realize in this wonderful country we live in there are people that go to bed hungry. Many of the people on my routes are elderly and it comes down to their meds or food and most have to have there meds to live. I use to leave their homes after delivering the meal in tears because so many people do not realize we have hunger in the United States and we should help our own.

If I had to give it to just one - then World Vision. Lots of people need money, but no one more than 3rd world kids. Plus the group's ultimate goal is for communities to sustain themselves so eventually they won't need anymore help.

Wherever charities are concerned, I only consider three possibilites; children and animals because they can't necessarily help themselves, and military/veterans for everything they've done and are doing to protect our way of life.
