I am a Methodist, but I want to visit a Catholic Church just to see what it is all about. I want to go to weekday mass, tomorrow actually, as I want to avoid the crowd. Is there anything I need to know before going?

Pray, praise the Lord and bless his holy name

Some of the prayers might seem unusual to you. If you visit EWTN.com, there is a hyperlink titled "Faith". It has more information concerning prayers and worship. In the book rack of the pew in front of you might be a "missalette", which is a small "missal". It functions in a very analogous way to a Book of Common Prayer or The Sunday Service. Also, you should find a hymnal there. Don't be surprised if you can't find a copy of the Holy Bible in the pews. I applaud your interest; go with an open heart and you will see that wherever there is true faith, you will find the presence of the Lord.

Just follow along in the missal. Also do not receive communion as this signifies that you are in unity with the Catholic Church and it's teachings. No one will actually care if you participate fully or just attend. Everyone is welcome.

if it is roman catholic, or most variations of, just follow along and say the may god be with yous when prompted etc.. kinda like faith by numbers lol just do not go up for communion unless you asked before the policy in that church, the one i grew up attending required you repented all sins day before or you could not receive communion.

Basically the same thing. If you want something different and useful go to beach or to the theater.

if its your first time just follow everybody else... stand when they stand, sit when they sit, kneel when they kneel. when people are exchaning handshakes it is a sign of peace, when you shake their hand say peace be with you.
