The first time you ever highlighted your hair did it look weird to you??? I don't hate my highlights or anything but my hair just looks so different. Is that normal? Did it take you a minute to get used to the change?

Yes indeed (check my avatar). My hair is black/dark brown. The stylist put in highlights. I said NO BLOND. What's in the front? BLOND! The rest is darker gold mixed with my black. I feel very odd and asked the stylist to tone it down which she did about one percent!

Oddest, I get LOADS of male attention -- I don't know why! Guys of every color look at me since the day of my highlights with THAT LOOK. My friends and family tell me it's flattering and NOT flashy like I think. It's been about 2 mos, and I think I'll keep maintaining the highlights.

So yeah, I get how different you feel -- it probably looks good.

I noticed my hair texture was totally different the first time I got my hair high-lighted. It was very dry and wirey. But, I soon found out that if I used the correct shampoo and conditioner, one that is specifically for color-treated hair, it fixed the problem almost instantly.

Yes it did. With someone with dark hair it usually brings out your eyes and it won't take long for you to get used to it. It will grow on you quickly. I love mine now.
