There are so many people against religion because it is based on belief. Belief is abstract.He/she becomes an atheist. If someone has no a strong faith ,he./she will not follow any religion. It is the obligation of priest ,pastor and canonist or theologian to socialize the doctrines of their religion. In Islamic religion all moslems have obligation to forward and explain the verses of the Holy Qur'an and Hadith to other people who does not know it.We have many religion teachers who spread islamic teaching through out the country especially to the inhabitant who are not yet become the follower of any religion..The follower maybe unfaithful due to he/she does not know well the complete religion teaching or doctrines. They do not know what should be done and what should not be done as a loyal followers and they do not know what is its rewards and its penalty or punishment if they are not obeyed.it.They should proof that the God Almighty is exist or present by looking into His creation. They should convince the followers that their religion is the best.Religion will give someone no stress, calm, no unrest, happy and prosperity in this un eternal world and will start living in the eternal world when died with happiness.
In the real teaching of a religion wiil avoid someone to do a wrong doing ,because he/she will get a sin and will support anyone to do a good doing.Knowledge and religion should run together to supplement each other.Einstein a wellknown scientist said that religion without science will lame and science without religion will blind

Well some people had oppressive and f*cked up religions forced upon them as children (raise your hand if you were raised Catholic). Some people just believe that it is all a load of crap. Some people don't care. Some people believe that certain religions are just wrong. Some people don't want to be involved in a religious community or label themselves, but still hold spiritual beliefs. Some people just think God is an a$$hole.
I don't think that athiests or agnostics are trying to "prove" anything, I think they're just trying to live their lives the way they want. They have a human right to free will, and they can choose to live how ever they want.
The bigger question to me is "why do you care?". It's not your life. No one is forcing you to be not religious. Some people have good reasons to be pissed off at organized religion. Why are you so defensive, weird, and prickley about it? What did the athiest/agnostic community ever do to you?

Ime, the soul is Spiritual and the ego/mind is Religious. God cannot be found via an intermediary, but ONLY through inward seeking. Religion is actually a distraction from the true development that happens with Spirituality. Religiosity is therefore where 'unfaithfulness' lies -- because the mind cannot know God, only the soul can. And the Heart is the resting place of the soul.
Blessings,

Two main reasons:
One is that religions have been interpreted by some in an oppressive way and a lot of people have suffered due to horrible things done to them or said to them or forced upon them in the name of religion, so they rebel against that.
The second is that thinking people understand that supernatural things such as the notion of god are simply anachronistic leftovers from a time when people understood less about the natural world and thus developed religions. Religion has now, for many people, become as irrelevant as any other ancient myth.

This is something the Bible foretold (Revelations 17:5, 15-17) that Babylon the Great which is the world empire of false religion and its symbolic waters, the support of the people, would dry up in many parts of the earth. Also states that soon political elements of the world will also turn against religion as they carry out God's thought to devastate false religion, which has universally blasphemed God's name and purpose.

I too am tired of all the silly attacks and inflammatory remarks made in this section.
But to be honest, religion has done a lot of evil to a lot of people. Even if the people against religion were not personally harmed by religion, that doesn't mean they can't speak against it. But if they do so, they should try to be respectful, not just troll for reactions.

The same reason there isn't just one religion. People are going to do what is right for them. I personally grew up as a Christian, but I just find that it wasn't really right for me. Now I just live by my own philosophies. Im not trying to prove anything to anyone. I may not believe in any particular religion (at this point in time) but that certainly does not make me any less spiritual.

I think that in todays society there is no morals anymore. I believe in God, I dont go to church every weekend but my faith is very stonng. Society and other factors conribute to this problem. U see it all the time for ex I see TV, Media, Radio etc.... promoting gay as if its ok with everyone and for me its not true. I am not judging just implying that in my belief its a sin and that is my belief Its just there is alot of people today that think that the church is corrupt and its true. And know a days people are just not as strong as they were back in the days.

We aren't trying to prove anything. I'm one of those that doesn't believe. I say I am Agnostic. Give me proof, and I might believe. Reliegion is the root of evil. Wars are fought over religion. People hate those who believe differently than they do. There is no answer but their answer. Not only that, religion discrimminates against others. NOT all religions. I stopped believing due to history and due to how much religion has let me down. Why do you believe? What are you trying to prove?

what are religious people trying to prove? That there's some man in the sky that acts as a father to all of mankind? Yeah, right...
Science proves everything in this world, and scientific explanations make sense.. rather than these bullsh*t stories, that no one knows the author of.
Believe it or not... there could be scientific explanation for reincarnation
