It could be that the depression has its roots in low blood sugar - something that happens to everybody every day, but for some it can hang around. For basic information on hypoglycemia and its precursor condition - hyperinsulinemia, check out www.hufa.org.

You need something to look forward to. Probably right now you have a long stretch of nothing to look forward to such as, a weekend of camping with friends, or a date next Friday, or even a new place to try for lunch tomorrow. Find something to give you a new interest. Go buy a Black Eyed Peas music album, Monkey Business is a good one. Anticipate the moment, look forward to hearing that sultry beat, crank up the radio. This is only a short term idea, but don't be afraid to put ten dollars in a jar under your bed and label it, "Alaska Cruise" and ten more dollars next week. In a month you will have something to look forward to and it will give you reason to keep going. Good Luck.

Could be anything depending on what you feel about different htings. RIght now I am depressed with work-I like it, jsut like your classes, but It is SO not challenging and thus I am not motivated - I can't even get out of bed in the morning...so obviously I need to find something to motivate me and get to the root of the problem...hope it works for you.

hey man it can be loads of things.... i know i have quite a few disability's relating to depression and i am a relatively normal chick, it can be from feelings you hide or the way you look or how you sound or walk to even comparing your family to others and the strange thing is that you don't even know you are doing it. i think you will be fine... if you can talk to some one you trust with you life, some one who wont jump to a conclusion that you need drugs to snap you out of it, or wont judge you, you sound only young and the best advice is don't let it get you down go to that person and tell them, even keep a journal so you can write things down that yo cant share and look back on it and praise yourself on how far you have come.

Not enough exercise. The chemicals in your brain drop. So you feel upset and depressed. Do aerobics, stretching and weightlifting. You will be amazed at the difference in your attitude.
