Oh, how I wish that I could walk close enough that Satan wouldn't want to be any where near me. That is a wonderful thought and a great question for you to ask. It convicts me. Thank you.

Once you are connected in the Spirit, you are covered and protected. Too many christians do not cultivate the connection between them and God via the Holy Spirit. They do not welcome God's presence in worship, they do not feed themselves with the Word of God or they feed their minds with the word but not their spirits.
When a person is Spirit-led, the Holy Spirit is invited to every part of a person's life either gradually or more quickly. The Holy Spirit is allowed to change people when they submit that part of their life to him.
It is recommended that a person ask to be filled with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit lives in every christian, but not all christians have asked God to activate the Holy Spirit to fill them; it's like a gas heater with the pilot light on, but the hot water tap wasn't been turned on and so the REAL flames ignited by the pilot light aren't activated.
Ephesians 6:18a says "Be (as in "Be Being" or be continously) filled with the Holy Spirit." Ask God to receive al or more of what he has for you, ask for the Holy Spirit to fill you and activate you.
When there is a spiritual connection there, Satan will oppose it. He has already lost the war when Jesus came into you life. But he uses his weapon of deception to try and make christians feel they've lost, still fighting a battle when the war is already lost.
The more a person is connected by the Holy Spirit to God, the more cause there will be for fear from Satan, and the more likely the opposition will increase. As you rely on the Spirit during these attacks the devil will fear. But do what it says in James, to flee temptation, resist the devil by running from danger. Don't ever think yourself above it because we are still human.
If it is an actual demonic manifestation in a person you encounter (non-christian), call on the name of Jesus to expel that demon, i.e. saying something like "In the name of Jesus, come out!". Sometimes you need to ask the demonised person (christians) to choose Jesus before the demon can go, to let go of the sin that has allowed a foothold on that person's life.
But that's more niche, that area. Just be led by the Spirit, ask for the same thing that characterised the early chuch in Acts, and expect it in faith, and it will happen.

Reverend,
Years ago when I used to live in Maine, I prayed a lot and had lots of faith and walked close to God. Then I felt like I had to leave Maine and go live in another New England state. Do you think it was because of Satan that I had to leave?
This is a true story.

You walk close to God as close as you like. Its said that you determine the outcome. Dont u think that is true? If you sin and do things that u know for a fact are not right, then what do you think is the outcome. God gives us free will to do as we choose but come judgement day well you know. Mentally only u know if you are close to God or not right.

Satan was with Jesus in the desert tempting him.He wasn`t afraid of him, nor God becuse he rebelled against him.Saying that ,do you believe that any one would be so ignorant as to think Satan would be afraid of them?I think not.Satan is the prince of this world.Seeking whom he may devour.

yes I do think that all the time. I always think that because, no matter what I do I know that God is on my side. The devil tried to get on me too bad,but God was always there on my side. So yes I do think if I start walking closer to God, he will be afraid; because if you know it or not the devil is afaid of God.

Well, the christian god and i don't get along, and I don't believe that all the bad things in this world are the fault of one entity. Damn, how stupid can somebody be to say it's not their fault for what they've done wrong?
