My cat lays on paper and bags and will not get off unless I pull them out from beneath her. Why is this?

Cats are strangely attracted to paper. I know that mine, personally, like the sound, but the is one theory that says there is an attraction to the fibers themselves. Protein, or something like that. In any case, what works for me is to crumple up another piece of paper, and when they're in position, throw it. I use scraps of paper I don't need anymore, and my cats LOVE it. Now they can be doing anything irritating, and as soon as I crumple, they come running. I'm training them, and they don't even know it! best of luck.

My cat likes to sit on plastic and paper bags. It keeps them cool just like the previous poster said. Plus it makes a noise that they like. Mine also likes to sit in paper bags and cardboard boxes for close shelter.

You should see them at Christmastime! THe BEST present you can give a cat at Christmas is to ball up your wrapping paper after each present opened and throw it all in a corner of the room. With every ball the cat will go happily nuts! When you are all done opening presents, your cat will still be going nuts in the great pile of paper balls.

properly, all cats are strange! i had a cat that could naw and lick on plastic luggage 4 about 7 to 10 minutes. she would also like to sleep on my homework if it became some position that she might want to sleep. i do not comprehend why they prefer paper and plastic luggage. mabey, if u extremely favor 2 comprehend, u might want to ask a chum who's a vet, or someone who knows a vet (that way it is going to keep u the money)

I think they like the noise and the feel of it.

My cat can't resist a plastic bag she would chase it across the room and then lie down on it.

One of my cats does this too, although she mostly likes to sit on the newspaper, preferably when I am reading it. She also will not sit on laps, but if you are holding a newspaper on your lap she will sit on top of the newspaper on your lap. She also likes sitting in empty plastic laundry baskets. My other cat prefers soft surfaces: laps, pillows, blankets. The cats remain true to their preferences whether it is warm or cool. Odd creatures, aren't they?
