If you are in South Florida or Metro Atlanta, head over to Brandsmart U.S.A. they have the lowest prices for LCD and Plasma TVs, even lower that Best Buy and Circuit City.
Here's a link to the company, check the sales advertisements.,
http://www.brandsmartusa.com The prices are actually lower in their stores. You can get the Panasonic TH-50PX60U for $2,898.88 or the Samsung HP-S5053 for $2,698.88. Both are 2006 entry level models. And everything they sell is factory fresh, they are 100% authorized resellers.

DONOT BUY IT!!!!! Go for the LCD..
plasma is generated by burning phosphur in small cells. these small cells do not hold much therefore they burn out quick. they fade in brightness by 50% after 6000 hours of use. then you will be darkening the room it is in just to see the picture. LCD cannot fade. it is lit buy a flourescent lamp. it burns out but can be replaced relatively cheap. plasma screen has to be replaced. most of the screens are made by nec, fugitsu. they cannot/will not send a new screen to the states. they will send the entire tv.
buy LCD its cheaper and less expensive to repair.
good luck.
