Most of our friends roast the pig on a pig roaster constructed from a 50 gallon barrel cut in half and designed to use propane or charcoal. They start at 4 in the morning and it is ready by 2 or 3 in the afternoon. It seems like the rotissorie would be quite small for handling a whole pig.

I think you have to dig a big hole in the ground and make a big fire in the hole first. Then I am not sure. Ask someone who is Philippino. I know you wrap the pig and stuff it full of spices then cover it up with banana leaves and dirt. It takes hours. Better go buy a pork butt and call it a day. If your feeding a crowd, probably better have someone like Hickory Smokehouse or Famous Daves cater your event.

These websites should give you some ideas. One thing's for sure- you need a BIG rotisserie!

Good luck with your pig roast! Bon apetit!

UGH!! Someone gave you the ugly job to do. Can you go to the store and buy some ham and get out of this yucky job?
