I think it's because they've missed you through the night. My kitties miss us so much that they sit outside of our door and meow at us to come out!

Are you in the habit of feeding your cat first thing in the morning?

Then she wants you to get your backside out of bed and feed her!

Do you lead a busy life, always out of the house, or in and out without much time for cuddling and petting a kitty?

Then he figures this is the best time to catch you standing still (or lying still as the case may be) for a little affection.

On top of all that is the fact that humans tend to sleep straight through the night (or at least try to...darn insomnia), and you are not available to pay attention to the cat when she wants to play or be petted. When you wake up, she's telling you how much she missed you while you were asleep, and can you please/pet her/scratch her itchy spots/play with her/feed her?

That's also most of what's going on when they walk in and around your legs like they are going to trip you. (Unless you are carrying a really tasty bit of food...then they are REALLY trying to trip you so you'll drop the food. Unlike people, cats *will* eat food that's on the floor. ;D )

Because cats are like humans too other than dogs, they are really glad to see u always and love u and they also love to be pampered, in the morning they just want like a little few pets to show u love them and then they would be alright and let u be.

Well..if cats are nocturnal, morning should be their nighttime..so maybe she is saying goodnight to you after a long day of hard play (AKA trashing your place) lol ;)

They are glad someone did not try to kill it as it slept.
If you don't like that one then they are happy for 8 more lives.
