All of you that say that Christians are not being attacked proved me right. They are being attacked because in most of those responses we were called ignorant or put down. (I just thought i would point that out)

Christians are successful and are very powerful in this world. Other groups of people want what we have but they know that inorder to get this kind of power they must convert and this is something they just will not do. So instead they have decided to unite against us.

Because Christians are trying to force their beliefs on everyone. Maybe a little of "live and let live" is called for. If Christians would just practice the "love" they are always preaching, the world would be more accepting.

Probably because they are fed up of being attacked BY christians and are taking a stand and fighting back.

It's not sudden - it has been going on since the beginning of the Church, and will continue until the final and glorious day of the Lord. Don't sweat it, though, because without suffering and persecution, we cannot learn humility, reliance on God, and many, many other things that a Christian needs to learn in order to become Christ-like. As the man said: "Blessed are ye when men persecute and revile you for my Name's sake..." and so on.

I don't think it's suddenly, however I would go so far as to say it has intensified...
(1) due to the diversity of religious teachings being taught. (People are exploring other routes - which in turn, makes them ignorant...)
(2) We are in End times, and prophecy is being fulfilled.
(3) I just think some groups people are more ignorant now - and lots of times, there is a twisted perspective regarding "Freedoms"
In simple language: People are putting "themselves" first; which means God isn't on recieving the RESPECT he deserves. (And you just know: Anything that goes against the "ME FIRST" syndrome causes people to retaliate in very ignorant ways.)

Christ told us we would be persecuted as He was persecuted. He said that the world would hate us because we were not of the world. Also I think satan is working overtime and he's getting a little worried because his time is short.
