I've been in a relationship for a year now and I feel that we need to see other people to grow. She is very dependent and attached and I know if I said this it would hurt her. I care for her a lot and I still want to be friends and possibly date again in the future... any suggestions?

Be honest with her! Yes she will be hurt but staying in a relationship when you want to see other people will only cause you to cheat on her and believe me, that will hurt much worse.

Forget about the possibility of dating her again... if you feel you want to see other people and break it off with her for a bit, this is a sign that your just not satisfied with your current relationship anymore.
Don't be afraid of hurting her feelings to the point of giving her false hope that your still interested in her... make a decision and stick to it, it will be better for the both of you in the long run.

First of all, don't insult her (or any of us in Yahoo! land) by saying the following:
1) that you need to see other people to grow
2) that you care for her a lot
3) that you still want to be friends
and
4) that you possibly want to date again in the future.
What you do when you say that is show your selfishness. My suggestion? Just cozy on up to your mirror and make kissy noises since you think you are Mr. All That.

It obvious that your not some jerk who could care less about her feeling's, so that is good. You need to just tell her how you feel. Yes, she'll be hurt and upset, but the longer you put it off, the harder it's going to be to tell her. You shouldn't feel obligated to stay with her just because you don't want to hurt her by breaking up.

if you been with her for a year why do you want someone Else? If you really care about her then why would you see other people? You don"t love her then if you see other girls. Your a player then! Maybe she should find another guy then.
