Ask yourself if you're ready to quit. Real soul searching. Statistics are that if you're not ready to quit, you won't be successful. Don't do it for your bf, do it for YOURSELF!

Before you stop smoking, keep track of every cigarette you smoke for 2 weeks. Also keep track of what you are doing. When I smoked, I found my worst times were in the morning when I was reading the newspaper & having my coffee. So....I started going for a short walk, sweeping the floor, anything that is different than your normal routine. Your usual routine has to change along with the smoking.

Week 2--Go over the journal. How many ciggs did you smoke (per day) and what were you doing? Now gradually start to reduce the number of ciggs a day that you smoke. By gradual reduction, you won't feel as deprived or panicy about your next cigarette. I was a heavy smoker + I was awake about 18 hours a day. I figure I had a cigarette every 15 minutes or so. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

Then I cut myself back to 3 cigarettes an hour, then 2. All day long. When you're serious about stopping, you do anything you can to get you thru the hour. Pretty soon, you'll find yourself going longer & longer without a cigarette until you're finally done smoking. Worked for me and I did it without gaining a pound! When you're ready...

The nicotine is out of your system in 72 hours, so your mind is just playing tricks on you now. Do something you can't do while smoking... take a shower, brush your teeth, knit. The craving will pass in about 10 minutes, so if you can keep yourself busy for that time, you're home free!
Also, try quitnet.com; there are very supportive people there.
You are doing great, don't give up!!

I'm 29 years old and had smoked for 10+ yearsuntil my lung collapsed. Had to quit, and now I'm so thankful. Its not worth it. Go eat some hard candy. Go excercise. Watch TV. Just quit thinking about it. If you've made it three days already, you're doing GREAT. Keep it up.

You need a new boyfriend.
Or, if you're just too damn committed and REALLY want to quit... try masterbating every time you get the urge...
If you hit like 15-20 times a day, however, you simply aren't strong enough to quit smoking... therefore, I would recommend a cigerette after masterbating.

Congrats on not smoking in 3 days! Keep it up. Don't smoke, it's disgusting to go it. Maybe google smokers lungs(images) and think to yourself, is that what you want your lungs to look like?

Dont do it! If you've gone this far, it'd be wasted to smoke now! Quit for yourself, not because your boyfriend wants you to. You'll feel so much better. Good luck, don't give up!

You can't really quit unless you WANT to quit.

Quit for yourself not for anyone else.I used to smoke 2 pks a day.I quit(cold turkey) about 5 years ago.I'm glad i did.

If you feel stressed and you're getting a real urge just go and read something. Get your mind off of it by doing something and just keep on pushing through your day and you'll get through.
