I make mine out in the sun, because I have the same problem. Get you a glass jug, put the tea bags in there and let the sun brew it. It's good. Try it. Leave the bags in there at least 4 hours or longer depending on how strong you like it.

Your in luck I am from the south...the Iced Tea capitol of the world...here is what you do...use two family size tea bags to make a gallon, tetley is good.
First boil water in a small pan on the stove and then add the tea bags and turn off the heat and put a lid on the pan to allow the tea bags to steep in the water. Let it steep 30 minutes or so, but not too long you do not want it to become bitter...
Now to a glass picture add a cup to 1 1/2 cups sugar or splenda(they measure the same but sugar just taste better :) depending on how sweet you want it...fill about half way up with water and then pour in steeped tea and then fill pan up with water again with the tea bags, kind of rinsing them to remove excess tea, now pour this into the picture and fill the rest of the way with water if needed and stir...don't fill to the brim leave about 2-3 inches. Let chill in fridge, if you pour the hot tea over ice, you weaken the flavor you are striving for...you can adjust this to your taste...i.e.: strength of tea and sweetness...good luck i hope this is what you are looking for...

I would use 4 tea bags for 1 quart of water. Get it really dark. Put about 1/4 of a cup of sugar and some fresh mint in the pitcher and crush them together before adding the tea.
Splenda is bad for you. Stop using it. It causes cancer in labratory rats.

The major reason for bad ice tea is putting the tea bags into boiling water. This causes bitterness, rainbows, and cloudiness.
Only heat the water until its hot enough to burn your finger. Remove from the heat and add the tea bags. Let it steep for approx. 20-30 minutes. Remove the tea bags and add more water if needed. Sweetened any way you prefer and place in the refrigerator.
Tea made this way will still taste fresh after even a week and never be cloudy or bitter.

There's this new teaby Lipton...it's called cold brew. You can make it with cold water (obviously) You just leave the tea bags in it for a few minutes and it's pretty good. I think your tea might not taste good simply because you're using Splenda. I know it's some health thing but it really doesn't taste too good. Can you just use regular sugar?

I use 8-10 small tea bags and put them in a microwaveable container with about one cup or so of water (it doesn't have to be exact!). I microwave it until the water starts boiling, then take it out and let the bags steep for about 4-5 minutes. You can steep them longer depending on how strong you want your tea. Next, drain the tea into a 2 qt. pitcher (squeeze all of the liquid out of the bags with a spoon), add sugar or other sweetener if you like it, then add cold water to top of pitcher. I've been making it like this for years, and it's never bitter. Good Luck!

okay!
Bring a pot of water to a boil... do one tea bag per quart (u can buy bags for this size) or one reg sized bag for every 8 ounces. Let steep for 4-10 minutes.. while still hot DISSOLVE the sugar or splenda... Let cool then chill.
Buy adding the sweetener in the hot water you are creating a simple syrup and that's what makes good sweet tea.

12 black tea bags
4-1/4 cups cold water
1 large fresh lemon, juiced, with half of lemon peel cut up and reserved
2 Tbsps. sugar (optional), or to taste
Instructions
Place tea bags in a saucepan. Add about 1/4 the water and bring to a boil. Allow to completely cool on the stove. Pour into a pitcher, add remaining water, lemon juice, lemon peel, and, if desired, sugar. Serve chilled.
You can adjust strength of tea as desired or use green tea or other tea in place of black tea.

boil your water, then turn it off and throw in the tea bags cover it and set it to the back of stove for hrs to cool.
( i like my tea dark ---and sweet) when it is cool (still a little warm) i add a cup of raw sugar, pour that into a a 2 qrt container and add cold water and ice to make 2 quarts. Growing up we used both glass and plastic containers. (you can use white sugar or sugar substitute ----my dad is in the sugar industry so i grew up on raw sugar and not white sugar--and he's diabetic and uses splenda and equal)

Try boiling the water with the tea bags in it. That's how I make mine. Also, use the large iced tea bags.
