Ok, people I'm referring to Christian religions and the Holy Bible used by. Translation Version does not matter to me.

So quit saying 'Christian', that's way to broad. I'm looking for a denomination.

Reformed or those "religions" coming out of the reformation especially from the Calvinist perspective. They have the greatest amount of writings on the scriptures from a vast amount of Authors. They have produced many Theologians, commentaries, and religious books. Even those of other religions have heard of many of them-Calvin, Luther, etc and a little later the Puritans who have volumes written about the Bible and other Bible related issues. They also started most of the schools of higher education. Take Harvard University. It was started as a Christian school by them. It used to state in their hand book that the main goal of a student was to know Jesus Christ. Also one of the most commen commentaries for a long time has been Matthew Henry whose commentaries sit on many a reformed bookshelf today. Also the Calvinistic or reformed church has sent out the most missionaries to spread the Word. One last thought is that the best selling Christian book of all time next to the Bible to the best of my knowledge is Bunyan's Pilgrims Progress. Spurgeon who claimed to have read it over 100 times stated that if you poked Bunyan anywhere he would bleed scripture.

It depends on portion. The jewish people know the Torrah inside out and most of the other old testament books. Same for the moslems. I think the overall winner would be the Baptist Christians with the importance of performing "Sword Drills" in Sunday school classes.

"Sword Drills" hearing a few words and being able to cite chapter and verse while opening to the exact page. The Word of God is considered the sword in Christian armour.

Seventh Day Adventist! I am one, and I decided to go to this particular religion because of all the stuff I've read in the bible I think Adventist are the most close to the truth. Do we make mistakes? Yes, Do we sin like any other person? yes. Do we do things that are totally unchristian? yes. Are we perfect? no. the reason why I joined this particular church is because I see it as a school and a hospital where I go to learn and to be healed by the Lord. God bless!

Jehovah's Witnesses. Although they do not openly acknowledge that they follow a form of the Arian heresy, they do - considering that his followers barely lost the Council of Nicea (trinity won by a vote for example, from what I remember from a theology course 20 years ago) it is not surprising that some of the books selected for canon nearly 400 years after Christ included references, some not so veiled, to his teachings -- which give good fodder to the Witnesses.

So if you actually are looking for Biblical literacy, I would say they have it hands down. As to whether or not Biblical literacy matters, if you want my opinion on that, visit the website I maintain. Thanks.

Honestly, I would have to say athiests. 90% of the athiests I know are former Christians, and did a lot of serious reading and thinking before coming to the conclusion that God does not exist. And to be honest, I see many more athiests on here who can quote passages from the Bible and use direct references than I do practicing Christians.

Jehovah Witnesses, years ago they where called Bible Students. we use the bible all the time and when someone has a question we go to the bible. don't believe anything that the person said about Jehovah Witness that is a lie. we don't make things up, we read the word of God even in your King James bible. the Jews are not God's chosen people anymore. they turned the back on Jehovah, they will not even use his name. take it from me, I was born Jewish, so I know. now a Jehovah Witness

No man created "religion" or any one knowing only man controled doctrin and dogma can truly know The Word of God. That is only found by the leading of The Holy Spirit.

Those of the Christian Faith do not follow man doctring or dogma. Our relationship with God is one-on-one and personal.

Just as there are several flavors of religion that use the Bible as their sacred text, there are several versions of the Bible.
Each sect selects the texts that best advance their pursuit of the seven deadly sins which are not published in the Bible but are more salient descriptors of evil when taken to extremes.
