I am asking this because I know someone who is going to go to the state pen for a looooong time, and want to know how often this occurs.

From what I hear. People get raped in prison for being either too overly aggressive or too timid. THere is a fine line one draws when entering prison and that is to be yourself. Don't mind other peoples business and no one will mind yours. If you act out all tough like you're a gangster, people will put you in your place. If you are timid and easily bullied or frightened, they'll treat you like a bit*ch. I think the best way to act is simply mind yourself. stand up when you need to but for the most part, lay low.

I have investigated a few rapes inside prison. It happens but not as common as television would like to show. It seems to higher in female facilities. I've never seen a rape go down, there are usually a few 'hawks' watching for the c/o.

Reports had been read of happening rape in prison as well under custody. No seen so far, since it is beyond my normal purview.
However, on the pretext of somegoing, why do you want to know the frequencies of its occuring?

I have seen many "sexual acts" in prison, but they were all with consent.
I have only heard of a few rapes over many years with the prison system.

my college professor saw a guy get raped in prison at leavenworth when he was an inmate

ALL KINDS OF THINGS HAPPEN IN PRISON..
A PERSON DOES GET RAPED IN PRISON .. YOUNG .. OLD ..IT DOES NOT MATTER TO THEM ,,JUST THINK SOME OF THE INMATES HAVE AIDS ,HEPATITIS B.OR EVEN CARRY STAFF INFECTION ......

It sadly occurs OFTEN.... if your friend is small they will get punked!!!!!! If he is a big guy... he will have to fight... or get it up the a@#!
