And how fast do these work? (Just wondering.) I'm not expecting to look fabulous in two days. Any suggestions or experiences?

Are you trying to lose weight? Or train cardiovascularly? To lose weight, running/jogging is great, if you do nothing else. In other words, if you just strap on your running shoes and run for 20 mins, even if you don't do any situps or anything, you will lose weight and look thinner within 2 weeks. Obviously, you want to watch what you eat. If you have access to a place to swim, swimming is AWESOME for losing weight, switch it up sometimes.

To train, you must run, and up the distance/time you run every week.

Swimming is excellent cardio, and it's fun. Another good thing about swimming is that it's easier on the joints then alotta other exericises can be, so that's good if you have messed up knee or ankles (like I do).

Some of my favorite cardio exercises:

1. running
2. running stairs (and I mean stairs, not stairmasters)
3. skipping rope.

Very large caloric expenditure from all three exercises.
