The black church is run by black people. People, regardless of race, sometimes make poor decisions. Perhaps your parents are disappointed and frustrated with the politics of the church and the nature of certain people. However, the church is not God. We should not confine him to a building, and we should not dismiss God because of the shortcomings of those who should represent him better. Good luck.

Most black churches have become a secular entertainment churches instead of a bible-based church and some are seeking a spotlight on radio,Television and etc... Some churches want more bodies on the pews instead of looking for those who souls are lost. The love of money probably has taking root. Preachers don't preach from a bible any more. They just stand or walk around the podium. Ask ur parents to discuss this with you and hopefully they are not bitter. God bless.

I have nothing against black churches as a whole. I know many good and outstanding black churches. What I have against some of them is their politics. Many black churches endorse democratic party members that support non-Christian values such as Al Sharpton. They support people who promote homosexuality and abortion rights.
That is why I am conservative... I stand by my Christian principles... if a church and I mean any church is going to preach the Bible... it must take a stand supporting people that stand by the Bible over political agendas that are working against one's foundational beliefs.

Perhaps some "tares" have subverted the pulpits and the pure Word of God is no longer being taught or adhered to. Since I attend a different church I couldn't say for sure. http://www.alcf.net

My church went bad because it became a fashion show; more people were coming (and looking good) but less money was being given during offering. That's a really good question though, it seems like more and more people are losing faith.

It's not God's fault. They are probably sick of the politic game that they have to play at their church. Every church has politics. It's as bad as high school.

like fruits once exposed to the bacteria and contaminants in the air, it turns black. so when the church is exposed to such elements, they turn black or already turned black.
