Matthew 24:3-14:
3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

The mormons are just the same as you and I . They're are Mormons that are actors, entertainers , lawyers , nurses, engineers, everything all americans do. They are just as kind and as generous as all religious people are in this country. Some of their old cultures such polygamy is no longer allowed and has been that way for awhile. They're far from a cult I can tell you that. They believe in God and Jesus Christ. Utah is a wonderful state to live in and I use to live there and from the four years I was there I never saw anything that would make me see them as a cult. You should go there sometime. By the way I'm a Baptist.

People in cults never think there in cults. The word cult has a negative connotation (Jim Jone, Branch Dravidian's), most Mormons are nice law abiding people so they don't think of themselves as a Cult, I don't see them as a cult although I know they are.

All of the world's religions are pretty much cults. It's a matter of degree. And perspective. I'm not Mormon myself, and don't find their doctrine remotely believable, but over ten million people do. Plus, they have some really swank temples. In the view of most cultures, that means they are a "church".

I think they say we are the true faith so much during a service that they actually brain wash themselves...
I have attended a Mormon service as a young ester, very long...
But its a true cult, because in the end they believe they will be like GODS,,,anyone that says that ,, now come on

technically all religions are broken into cults and sects. mormons follow an extreme version of New Testament. so yes they are a cult. and yes, they know it.

It's people like you who cut other religions, knock down another person's believes, spreads false rumors, etc that give Christians a bad name.
Grow up and start living what you preach. I thought Christians taught love your neighbors. Be kind to others.
I didn't know Christ taught hate and ridicule those that
think differently from you.
PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH.
This implies to most of the so called Christians who answered this question.

Because they were taught by thier mothers and fathers, like thier mothers and fathers taught them, and they know no different.
Thier Society is a closed minded Sect. That doesnt allow outside influences to interfere with them.
If some one is even contemplating something different, they excommunicate them from the church, and from thier entier FAMILY!!
Now, no one wants to lose contact with thier family, so, they dont venture past the guidelines of thier church teachings.
I wish you well..

That was disrespectful! I am not a mormon and I never would be, but not because of hearsay... I just don't think they have the truth. But that doesn't mean I would ever be so rude about it :(
