AHHHH oh god i knew this was coming... ok first of all....the duck has one hell of a good chance of getting away without me shooting it, better than the cow that was lined up at a slaughter house and pounded to death in the head with a hammer (although i gotta say...my friend grills one hell of a london broil..but thats beside the point)
second......its not just for killing the ducks...its the experience...going out on the water at 5am with your closest friends and family, watching the sun come up and breathing fresh morning air. Just WATCHING the ducks cup up and pitch into a string of decoys
dont knock it til u try it

yes I have, but I was deer hunting. I had an 8-point out in front of me and some s.o.b pulls up in the field , chases off the deer, just as I am about to shoot. Man, he pissed me off. Then he tries to tell me how hunting is wrong, and on top of that, it was private land!

i really like your style. born and raised hunting in brithish columbia. i have had ethics pounded into me since i could stand at the kitchen table.
i have no problem with people taking interest and doing the research then voicing an opinion but most of them people have no idea what they are doing except following someone else's troubled cause. celebrities are the worst offenders in my opinion. they apparently don't know what would happen if animals were not harvested and managed. over population and spread of disease and massive die offs. a whole population of bighorn sheep was wiped out in the early 70's near here because of no harvest and herd management. 4000+ animals. it will never recover. and when was the last time anything from their wallet helped any wild animal? in canada a high percentage of licence fees goes to habitat and the health of the animals. hunting is a real necessity.

First of all, why would anybody enjoy hurting animals. That is sick and twisted. That isn't a sport, it's murder!!!!!!!! If you enjoy watching the sun come up and being in the water, that is normal but you don't have to murder innocent ducks. They have families and feelings just like us. You don't think they feel the pain as they're shot in the stomach or head and fall to their deaths? All they are doing is living in this world like you and me, minding their own business. There are people in this world that deserve to be killed, not an innocent animal. People who get a thrill out of hurting or killing an animal are heartless and cruel people. A normal person would enjoy going out on to the water and watching the birds fly and be free with other birds and enjoy hearing them sing. If you have the urge to kill, kill a rapist or a child molester or a murderer.

I agree with them on the fur issue, but even when I was vegetarian (not anymore) I never had a problem with hunting, ethically done: don't shoot unless you have a kill shot (and if it isn't, track the animal until you find it--don't leave it to die horribly in the woods), eat what you kill (I totally disagree with trophy hunting), don't mix guns and alcohol, don't poach (game seasons and limits exist for a reason).
I am, in my 40s, new to hunting, although not new to the woods. I like the idea of meat free from hormones, antibiotics, etc., and I really like venison.

I hate PETA, as someone mentioned already you should defiently watch the Penn and Teller episode of Bullsh*t about PETA. And for all of you who support PETA, I hope you don't have pets! PETA is for complete animal liberation. That means no pets and animals are completely equal to humans. Many times they hire people to work in packing plants and production facilities to abuse animals so they can shot their videos about the horrible conditions in these industries. They are also terrorist and are willing to kill people for their cause.
Secondly I have a problem with the members of PETA who support abortion. I am all for animal welfare. Animal welfare means the animals are treated fairly and live a healthy life. I am totally against abortion and killing unborn babies!
Also, I am a student in Animal Sciences. I have been in many of the places such as packing plants that PETA claims are so bad. I didn't see any abuse and I am eating meat still to this day. As a matter of fact a really enjoy meat.
I also enjoy hunting. My dad was a farmer and he had to hunt because the deer and woodchucks ate his crops. I am also for hunting in order to control the population.
DOWN WITH PETA !!!!!!!!!!!

PETA (People For Ethical Treatment of Animals) should be lined up and shot. When they open season on these nut cases, let me know so I can buy a ticket.
These are the same MORONS that released farm raised minks into the wild. For those of you who don't know, even predatory animals (minks) have to learn to hunt. When they are raised in a cage, their food is brought to them. They have no idea how to fend for themselves. But this is "ethical".

PETA has to be, without a doubt, one of the most hypocritical organizations in the world today.
Take a look at the link. It should work but if it doesn't, just google "penn and teller peta" and you'll get several hits.
Watch it, it's VERY informative about PETA and it's disgusting tactics...

Huh.. didn't think PETA went after hunters much; I figured them for the Meat-is-murder, Science-kills-bunnies, Just-say-no-to-fur kind of city folk. At any rate, shooting PETA members would be wrong. Entertaining, but nonetheless wrong.

Why do you want to kill ducks. Do you enjoy seeing them shot,do you enjoy seeing them suffer and die. Is that called a sport? What kind of people get a thrill out of that? I think you have to be cold hearted and evil to harm innocent animals. Thank God for PETA

Tree hugging nut jobs the lot of them.
Hey, they don't want us doing anything to animals that we wouldn't do to people, so by their own logic it should be perfectly OK to shoot one of them, then go hunting.
Oh, I saw a bumper sticker: If we are not supposed to eat animals, why are they made of meat? LOL
