Maybe because you are in so much pain that you can not see His love for you through the warm tears. Maybe because you do not feel like you are worthy of His love for you?
Am I close to what you are seeking? I was once like that... just wondering.

The same reason we no longer believe in Greek and Roman mythology.
Because the only account is that of men.
Because the word "real" is loaded and implies knowledge from experience and evidence that is tangible, of which the implication of God is not.
Because people have done awful things in the name of God's love.
The same reason it is hard to believe you die and not a darn thing happens except for flesh rotting.

There is no real physical proof he exists, at least none that cant be explained away by scientific evidence! And that's the whole point, we can prove trees and animals and the sun even came from chemical reactions, but u really cant prove god, the only evidence is a 2000 year old book and people who say just look around u that's proof!

Because of the daily tragedy, disaster that is happening here in our world everyday, some people think God is punishing us or they even think God does not exist. On the other hand, if we look all around us, we can see all the wonderful things God created for us. God really is someone very mysterious.

All of us have a faith. That faith comes from a free will that was given to us by God. To not have that faith in someone or something provides an emptiness inside our thoughts. There are many teachings of God and Jesus his son. There are many representations over the world of Gods or mentions of saints, wise men that use to live on earth that people worship. There are some who do not believe in Jesus the son of man. It's only natural for us to have doubts about things we don't understand. If you love something and trust in it enough then it will come easy to you. God is one of love, compassion and he loves us all. It is us that forget to love our creator. God also mentioned that if you see him then you must surely be dead in body.One more thing to remember. The only sins that can't be forgiven is denying that there is God, and committing suicide. That's scary, but not really if you think about it. I myself don't want to face hell and it's wrath. I love God just as there's night and day. I just know he is and that's all I need. It comforts me. He answers prayers in strange ways to if you ask him.

We are in a material world and God is spiritual. It is much easier to touch and feel someone, to be able to look in their face and watch their actions and determine if that person actually loves them.
Seeing is believing. Many people don't trust their feelings today. You can't see God, but you can feel Him, if you are secure enough to open yourself up to Him.
An individual has to want to know that God loves him/her before they will begin to develop a closer relationship with Him. Most people are content with what they have and don't open themselves up to feel His love for them.

ok i had the exact same question just a few months a go i would star praying and then i would think am i wasting my time is he really there and thinks like that but i read melody carlson's books and they open my mind i'm a teenager so i read diaries of a teenage girl by melody carlson or truecolor books well it depends on how old you are but she has good books for every ages and trust me the aren't boring and they relate a lot to your life .

Because a lot of people do not see the miracle that happen around us everyday. In the bible it says that in these such times our hearts will be hardened and it is so true.

look around at what's going on in the world!
If that's how god shows his love,by letting babies starve to death,be blown to pieces by bombs,and suffer with illness because the parents are to poor to buy medicine.They nothing wrong to suffer so.
If he was so loving where is the love?
