I'm going to a camp in Northem L.A. in California for about a week, and I need help packing. I tend to over-pack, or under-pack, bring too much, or too less, and all that stuff... And my suitcase is kinda small, and I THINK I need another bag!!! NOOOOOO~~~~ Any tips on packing neatly& save some space???

Lay everything that you want to bring on your bed. Cut the pile in half. Then cut that pile in half again.

Just bring a couple of pairs of pants and a few shirts, long and short-sleeved. No one's going to notice that you're wearing the same thing over the week. A warm lightweight jacket that you can layer shirts under. You didn't say where in Northern California you're going, but if it's near the coast, it can get foggy and cold.

If you absolutely must have products (i.e. shampoo, lotion, cleanser, etc.), just put a little bit into some small plastic bottles. (Hint: Mark them with a Sharpie so you know what they are.)

Roll up your clothes rather than folding them. They'll wrinkle less, and you'll have more room.

Packing bags? The last time we went on a trip we tried the plastic bags that you can buy at a department store... You put all your stuff in the bag and then sit on it to get rid of the air. It makes your clothes water proof and you get twice as much (warning: twice as much weight too) into your suitcase. International travel benefits (not a big deal for LA) are for searched luggage remaining intact.

Clothes stay fairly unwrinked.

Good luck on your trip...

Try checking www.ricksteves.com and use his list. Its geared for Europe but I use it for any occassion.

If you are going for 10 days, then pack for 5 days. Be prepared to do some washing or wearing something 2x's.

Find out what the weather is like. In the day you may wear tshirts and shorts, but at night change to jeans.

Remember, going to camp doesn't mean you are away from civilization!

when i sent my kids on trips,we would roll all the clothes instead of folding,(keeps the wrinkles out,and saves space.)Also i sent cheap t-shirts that they could wear then throw away,so they could bring home any souvenir's.Make sure you fill up your shoes with any items that will fit.My two kids went to Europe for 16 days with one med suitcase, and a back pack. Hope this helps.

Fold an item neatly...put it in a ziplock bag...zip a straw into the bag....suck all of the extra air out of the bag with the straw...pull out straw...and finish zipping
