. Things the Watchtower said that "followed not."
"Our Lord, the appointed King, is now present, since October 1874, A.D., according to the testimony of the prophets, to those who have ears to hear it." (The Battle of Armageddon, Studies in the Scriptures, Vol. 4, 1897 ed., p. 621)
"...the 'battle of the great day of God Almighty' (Rev. 16:14), which will end in A.D. 1914 with the complete overthrow of earth's present rulership is already commenced." (The Time is at Hand, Studies in the Scriptures, Vol. 2, 1908 ed., p. 101)
"Therefore we may confidently expect that 1925 will mark the return of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the faithful prophets of old, particularly those named by the Apostle in Hebrews chapter eleven, to the condition of human perfection." (Millions Now Living Will Never Die, pp. 89,90)
"The year 1925 is a date definitely and clearly marked in the Scriptures, even more clearly than that of 1914." (The Watchtower, 7-15-24, p. 211)

"Our thought is, that 1925 is definitely settled by the Scriptures....As to Noah, the Christian now has much more upon which to base his faith than Noah had...." (The Watchtower, 4-1-23, p. 106) [Question: Was the Society wrong here about what is "definitely settled" by the Scriptures and what is not? Also, could they be wrong in other areas too, regarding what the Scriptures teach?]
"It is to be expected that Satan will try to inject into the minds of the consecrated the thought that 1925 should see an end of the work.... Diligence now and to the end seems absolutely essential to victory." (The Watchtower, 9-1-25, p. 262)

"Some anticipated that the work would end in 1925, but the Lord did not so state." (The Watchtower, 8-1-26, p. 232)
"There was a measure of disappointment on the part of Jehovah's faithful ones on earth concerning the years 1914, 1918, and 1925, which disappointment lasted for a time....they also learned to quit fixing dates..." (Vindication, Book I, 1931 ed., pp. 338, 339)

"Receiving the gift, the marching children clasped it to them, not a toy or plaything for idle pleasure, but the Lord's provided instrument for most effective work in the remaining months before Armageddon." (The Watchtower, 9-15-41, p. 288)
"True, there have been those in times past who predicted an 'end to the world,' even announcing a specific date.... Yet, nothing happened. The 'end' did not come. They were guilty of false prophesying. Why? What was missing?.... Missing from such people were God's truths and the evidence that he was guiding and using them." (Awake, 10-8-68, p. 23)

"The facts show that the angels of the Lord with him at his temple have been thus rendering service unto the remnant since 1919." (Vindication, p. 250)
"Jehovah God has also provided his visible organization, his 'faithful and discreet slave,' made up of spirit-anointed ones, to help Christians in all nations to understand and apply properly the Bible in their lives. Unless we are in touch with this channel of communication that God is using, we will not progress along the road to life, no matter how much Bible reading we do." (The Watchtower, 12-1-81, p. 27)

The importance of Eve's creation to the end of the world and 1975
The Watchtower Society claims Armageddon will come within 6,000 years after the date of Eve's creation. In other words, if we add 6,000 years to the date of Eve's creation we will arrive at the date of the end of the world. The Watchtower declares there is but one problem, that is, no one knows the date of Eve's creation. However, this was NOT a problem BEFORE September 1975! The reason for this cover-up is obvious!

This is what the Watchtower said about Eve's creation and 1975 AFTER Sept. 1975
"Although the time of Adam's creation can be determined, the beginning of God's 'rest day' cannot. This is so because there was a time lapse of unspecified length between Adam's creation and the creation of Eve. Not until after the creation of Eve did God's 'rest day' begin. The start of that day being unknown, its end is likewise unknown." (The Watchtower, 1-1-76, p. 30)

If you read the Watchtower AND use your Bible to look up the scriptures that are qoated, then you will see for yourself what's going on. For example in the Bible a 2 Timothy 3:1-5 tells us things such as these: "In the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, having no natural affection.....lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. Matthew 24:7 says; Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages...All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress." These things are happening now. The Watchtower helps people to see what is going on using the Bible as the main tool. The Watchtower helps people to find in their own Bible these things so that they can CHOOSE or not choose to do what the Bible says we should do. Read one some time and decide for yourself. It can't hurt. Just make sure if you do that you USE YOUR BIBLE to look up the scriptures.

But we would love to see you at Kingdom Hall, especially we just finished studying the Prophecy's in the Book of Daniel, it has every thing to do with the time we are living in now and our future as humans on this earth. Even if you do not believe it, it is a fascinating study!

I would call them the Watch Tower prophecies that are completely withdrawn from the Bible itself. Jehovah's Witnesses are not a cult (as the other person said), attend a meeting at a local Kingdom Hall and you'll certainly find out that JW's are very delightful and kind. The information found in the Watch Tower magazines are taken out of the Bible, nothing is made up. I encourage you to check out a local Kingdom Hall. It'll change your life, the way it changed mine.

Stay away from them... they are a cult. They use Christian terminology but their words mean entirely different things. Do not seek someone that teaches a different Jesus. Paul had a few words about people who do those things. Get to know the Bible that way when you run across these magazines you can sort the truth from deception.

During the past 130 years, readers of The Watchtower have learned that Jehovah's Witnesses are performing a unique role in helping their neighbors to understand God's plan to replace human governments and restore an earthly paradise.
(Daniel 2:44) The God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. ...It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite
(Matthew 6:9-10) “You must pray, then, this way: “‘Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth
(Psalm 37:10,11,29) And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more... But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth... The righteous themselves will possess the earth, And they will reside forever upon it.
Another lesson The Watchtower has taught for decades is that the Bible is the only inspired communication from God today. Similarly, the Bible is the only infallible means of discerning the thoughts of the Almighty. Faithful and discreet servants of God have performed much good in the century-plus since The Watchtower began publication, but its writers have never once claimed to be either infallible or divinely inspired.
Clearly, true worshippers should be far more concerned with the Word of God than with even the best of bible study aids. As an illustration, consider that a stylish pair of precision eyeglasses are still no comparison with the miracle of the beautiful human eye!
The larger issue of God's Kingdom has always been of primary concern to modern Jehovah's Witnesses. The Kingdom preaching work today is not distracted by worries over long-past mistakes of Moses, King David, Apostle Peter, or magazine writers a hundred years ago.
Perhaps it should be noted that Jehovah's Witnesses are NOT trying to preach themselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord.
(2 Corinthians 4:4-6) For we are preaching, not ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your slaves for Jesus' sake.
Jehovah's Witnesses remain unaware of any infallible earthly group who also is performing a global preaching campaign in obedience to Christ Jesus himself:
(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.”
Jehovah's Witnesses feel as did Peter:
(John 6:68) Peter answered him: “Lord, whom shall we go away to? You have sayings of everlasting life
Read for yourself the clarity and wisdom in the publications of Jehovah's Witnesses:
