As, in, sacrifice humor, intelligence, honesty, and suspend belief just so their answers will be picked as best. I didn't realize at first that this is a competative game Agree or disagree?

Hadn't thought my question humorous. Go figure. All the world's a stage, just not enough spotlight. Get enough 2 pointers and pretty soon that's all some of you will be doing. The rest of us will have moved on to site that actually encourages wit, thought and good sense.

this was a good one, bravo! I'm new to this whole thing and hadn't really even considered what the points were all about. What are they all about, really? I mean one person here said they aren't worth anything, kinda like the Drew Carry Show, just for fun. And then there was one who said if they waited long enough they might be rewarded. I thought, I bet they play the lottery too. And then the ones who jabbed, "yeah, like me, thanks for the 2 points, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha " ooookaaayyy.......sooo, what did you get for that 2 points? Granny used to say a person's actions (or statements) speaks more about themselves than about the one the action (or statements) are taken upon. Then there are the semi-defensive ones. I will join that group. I answered questions that struck a nerve with me. The internet being as anonymous as it is allows me to speak my mind freely without getting into a knock-down drag out with some one who doesn't know how to debate but only wants to argue. It's safe. And also I'm with the guy who said it stimulates thought. Use it or loose it. I find it more and more difficult to even find people with whom you can have an intelligent conversation with. Must be my social circle. I am a bit of a redneck. Thanks for the chuckle on this one. I believe that God sends us certain people just for entertainment value.

Indeed they do. I suppose in any competition you are going to find the competitors taking as many short cuts as is possible. You will find that even though this is popular now, there will come a time when the only people answering questions are the ones trying to get points to maintain a level that the rest of the opponents had long since given up on.

But, for now, let's enjoy the answers as best we can.

Yes, the first question I ever answered was the question asked by Dr. Stephen Hawking regarding whether or not we can sustain another 100 years here on Earth...and over the last day I have only answered a select few of these questions...some for fun...and some because they were very serious matters worthy of open discussion...but never any for points...

There are times I feel I take these questions way toooo seriously. I try to give complete and helpful answers. I read some of the answers and some even say, "I don't know, but I need two points."

What good are the points if we can't use them for something worthwhile? I say do away with the point system. That way the only people who reply have something to truly offer.

I agree that this is a competitive game and some do answer to gain points. All you need to do is read some of the answers.

I answer because I enjoy the interaction. Some questions are thought provoking, and I rather like giving my brain a workout.

I suppose some do it for the points. I like the interaction with my peers. Lets not forget that truly the points are worth nothing, so go figure?

yeah, some people are doing that just for the points. I'm doing it because of points and because everything else I was doing was boring.
