use the boot disk and load it when u get the command prompt typ in..

fdisk....

then delete the partition...

then type in the command format c:/u

and then it is formatted.....

Not sure what you are asking. Xigenral's instructions will wipe everything from your hard drive and prepare it for a reinstall of Windows. Be sure that is what you want to do before you format the drive.

You will need to reinstall Windows before you will be able to use the computer. Be sure you have a Windows CD (and a boot floppy if doing Windows 98) and a working serial number before you reformat the hard drive.

Insert the CD (and 98 floppy) into the computer and allow it to boot up from the disk. It should automatically start the install for Windows. During the install, it will offer you a chance to format the hard drive also, so you can wait and do it here, rather than before starting the Windows install. From there you should be able to just follow the prompts and Windows will reinstall.

reset you mean re-install 98? Create a win 98 boot disk make sure you can boot from floppy (advanded bios settings) and follow the onscreen instructions
