If it's dry, wet it.
All kidding aside....go to your local beauty supply store (like Sally's) and ask for "cow placenta". I'm serious...sounds gross...but it's the best thing ever for dry hair.

Ok, without going into the painful details, I used to have hair like STRAW. It was bad, dude. I recommend shampooing and conditioning with Garnier Fructis products. They also have an excellent fortifying deep conditioner you should do every week. Also, try making some hair packs. I like to mash up avocado and mix it with vitamin E. Keep that in your hair for a half hour. Put it in a shower cap and use a hair dryer on it or wrap it in a warm towel. The warmth makes the hair absorbent. You can do this with any kind of deep conditioner or regular conditioner for dry/damaged hair. Make sure all the products you use are specifically targetted at your problem.
*Edit* That Cholesterol stuff jaded.beth talks of is also good.

I heard saflower oil found in most fine groceries is the most like the oil your scalp produces naturally I used it in high school and everyone always compliment how nice my hair felt and looked. Do be careful a little goes a long way... ex. I have long fine hair I am also caucasion and i used about a dime size drop and distribute it throughout after towel drying my hair. Also I restrict any heat styling and styling products to about 2 times a week and I only wash every 2-3 days depending on how dirty it can become...(not unless I swim or workout then I wash it afterwards). Hope this helps. also check out biosilk it is great. since you have a date tomorrow you may want to try an updo to conceal the ends and use the biosilk and smooth it in it will give a nice polished look to an updo with out feeling to self consiance

Eat protein and gelatin so your hair will grow in strong. You can buy gelatin capsules if you don't want to eat a lot of Jello. You should also take a Vitamin E capsule daily and cook with canola oil, for shiny hair.
You should use a deep conditioner on your hair once a week. You can pick one up at a drug or beauty supply store. Also avoid straightening, curling, or blow drying your hair. All of these can damage your hair and make it drier.
You can also try using coconut oil on your hair once a week. Massage it into your scalp, and pull it through your hair. Leave it on overnight, and shampoo it out in the morning. Coconut oil adds moisture and shine, and helps repair damaged hair. You can find it in a natural/health food store or online at places like www.drugstore.com. You can use olive oil or shea butter as a treatment if you prefer.

A friend of mine heats up olive oil, and then puts it in her hair and leaves it in for 20 minutes, like an old-fashioned hot oil treatment. I think she washes it out after that, but I'm not sure.
I use L'Oreal Kids conditioner (the grape). It works better than any other conditioner I've ever used.

well, how do you style it? if you straighten it a lot, that can cause it dry out. if you blow dry it, it'll dry out, too. and don't wash it too much.
how about you don't wash it for a couple of days. then wash it with conditioner and let it dry on its own. see how that works.
