How about bowls of floating candles & flowers from your bouquets? You can probably find the bowls pretty cheap at a party supply store or a craft store & give them away as gifts when the day is done.

Don't let the florist talk you into $50 centerpieces. Not necessary, there are lots of centerpieces that can be done for less than $10. Go to your local arts and crafts store, buy a glass bowl, fill part way with water and float some blooms in the water. Much less than a typical florist arrangement. If the bowl is shallow enough you can also put a pillar candle in it. Check out the neat centerpieces they did on Design on a Dime wedding, link below.

Do you belong to Sam's or Costco or have a friend that does? You can buy flowers in bulk (cheaper than the florists). With a shallow bowl use floating or a tall pillar candle. You can find them at Garden Ridge, a dollar store or a craft supply store at affordable prices. Or you can buy a hanging plant and place a few taper candles in the center of the arrangement. If you have a wholesale nursery you can work out a deal or pay at cost or you can try your local Walmart, Meijer or Kmart or even the grocery store. One with ivy and few varieties of flowers. Most flower arrangement baskets run up to $50. It just depends on where you are and where you go. Just remember to remove the wire/plastic hanger. But hold on to them so you can take them home or give them away.

what about making your own candle centerpieces along with black and white and silver ribbons? Even a hint of color to them and fake flowers? You might be looking at a few dollars per centerpiece...

Also the goldfish in the cheap bowls with colored rocks are a hit with a floating wild flower on the top would work cheaply as well.

My cousin had a black and silver wedding - it was so nice. Anyway, her centerpieces were nice. She had a large mirror and had different size black and silver candles lite on them. I also saw at another wedding that was nice were a big glass bowl filled with water and they had flowers floating in it. Both were nice and don't think too expensive. Congratulations and enjoy your wedding.

I love to garden, so I chose plants to plant right in my garden after the honeymoon. I planted mine in planters that matched our wedding colors, but it would be nice to have the pots wrapped in silver mylar. I used shamrocks and white fairy roses as our wedding was right after St. Patrick's Day and we are both Irish. You could use any white flower in season when your wedding will be held. Good Luck, and congratulations!

My wedding is in a few days. We used clear "globe" bowls, took a few silk flowers & bent them down so they went around the inside of the bowl sideways . It was very inexpensive & really cool looking.
