To PERFECT AMERICAN...?

Talking about American Unity, What are you talking about?, Do you know that here in America we have the fist place on broken families?, Do you know that we have the first place talking about divorce?, Do you know (maybe not you) that our nation it's beeing knowing around the world for the fact that we don't have any tolerance (even worst than SouthAfrica back in the day)?

With all the respect that you deserve..ENJOY YOUR AMERICAN UNITY..(and it's not the immigrants fault, don't be ignorant, I thought you were really smart, you know that the unity thing it's been there even before the immigrant issue. Men don't disappoint us, I think that you really talk good things, but please don't blame them for that......Peace!!!!

the United States became what it is because of so many immigrants that came here to have a better life. Most of the people that come here illegally do it because they don't have the money to pay for a visa. A lot of countries charge rediculous amounts of money for someone to even let someone come to this country as a visitor. America doesn't just consist of the United States. It is made up of Canada, Mexico, and all of the Central American countries. It isn't the immigrants fault that we are in first place for broken homes or divorce. My fiance' came here from Mexico, he works 74 hours a week, we have a beautiful daughter and a great life. 9 out of 10 divorces are people that were born and raised in the United States. Did you ever think that we just live in a very screwed up country because of the way people are raised now a days and because of the person that is running this country? You can't blame immigrants for the problems we have because most of them have nothing to do with them at all. Divorce happens when 2 people make a mistake, most of the time they get married to early in the relationship or they get married for all the wrong reasons such as looks, and money. And broken homes are created when a women or man creates a child they can not take care of and abandon. How is that an immigrants fault?

If you don't think that all of the racisim that is going around on YA is is causing problems, then you need to read some more of the posts on here. If you are against Illegals being in this country, according to some, you are a racist. TO some, it doesn't matter that the Illegals are breaking the law. If someone disagrees, and says the Illegals should be sent home, then you are automatically considered a racist. I understand that it is not about Mexicans only (even though Mexican is not a race). So, where does the racisim label come from? It is very complex, but even the little things, like stirring up the coals in the racisim pit can cause the flames to reignite.
I may have gone overboard saying that they are dividing the country, and I stand corrected.
I really don't have anything against immigrants. I believe that everybody should have the opportunity to do good for their families and should have the opportunity to be and do whatever they want. I just don't think that Illegals are being very open minded about their plight. They have to be understanding and realize that they are asking alot of Americans.
I think we have a lot of broken families here because we don't have faith and religion pushed on us as they do in other countries. Other countries, religion forces people to marry others that they don't even know. And to leave that person leads to shame and disownment, some places death. We happen to enjoy the freedom to leave a marriage for reasons like spousal abuse, mental and physical. And irrencocilable differences.
I have not heard that we are know as a nation that is not tolerant. I have alwasy heard that we are one of the most tolerant of the free nations of the world. Which would explain why so many people want to come here. We are so tolerant that people will walk across the southern deserts to get here. People float on makeshift rafts to get here. We are so tolerant that radicals from other nations want to kill us because we will never conform to their radical religious beliefs. This is a country of opportunities, where every Law abiding citizen has the opportunity to reach great heights and acheive things that no other country can offer.
If some believe that we are not tolerant, then they certainly are entitled to their views, but they are wrong.

I am a PROUD AMERICAN!! Sure our country has it's faults, but I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. The citizens are not the ones destroying this country, it is our GOVERNMENT. The fact remains the same about immigration, they broke our laws coming into America illegally. They should have to leave, and not be able to return. American citizens DO NOT get rewarded for breaking the law, so why should the illegals? I mean what about the people here who need help, and can't get any? It has nothing to do with being LAZY, as I have heard. There is NO jobs left and the ones that are, is being taken by ILLEGALS. There is just NO way to make that right.

1)I don't blame the immigrants for anything, except the illegal ones for crossing the border illegally.

2)I feel more like a U.S. citizen. Yes, I am 'american', but so is everyone born on the continents, of north and south america.

3)I do agree about the unity thing. I don't like to think about it, because I'm not really good in this area. But then I just want to be alone for awhile.

I loved the whole essence of this question. I had to read it a few times....but I got it. Very nice.

I won't downplay American Unity......that would be ridiculous......and I don't think this question does either. It is just saying....."embrace that unity......and don't blame the woes of the US on everyone else BEFORE you take a good long look at yourself".

America rocks! It isn't about immigrants either. Illegal immigrants should not have any rights that legal immigrants have. Illegal immigrants broke the law and should be sent back to their home countries. I think that the countries that don't support those illegals should be fined heavily by the WTO for their failure to provide a living wage for them....
