where as in eastern philosophy much importance is given for silence , peace,
it teaches many meditations to master the mind & not b a slave of it,it teaches us how to knock out the thought's
& in this peace v deeply enquire ,it's only by practising & constantly polishing(enquiring) ,v will realise the truth

You mean " idle. " It's an old saying. " Idle hands are the devils' workshop. " Idleness for it's own sake is never a good thing.

Both eastern and western philosophy is the luxury of the indolent, like those of us who hang out at Yahoo Answers. Neither eastern nor western philosophy or religion has done much for the betterment of mankind hear on earth. For that we turn to science. The epistemology and applications just work a whole lot better.

I don't consider meditation as being idle. It take great courage to look at yourself deeply and much discipline to stay at it.

Yes look at what happened to Noah. He bulit the ark, and did what God told him to, then after the flood was over he bulit a vineyard, and got drunk, which in the end got one of his sons cursed
