If you have to ask, then it's pretty obvious that your girlfriend is not your first priority. Maybe that's not right though and you do love her. If so, where's the dilemna?
Therefore, pursue you career. Go for the job and the money.
If you go away and then realize you love her and want a commitment, then make one. If you know you love her already and are prepared to make a commitment, then make one now and buy the engagement ring and take her with you to Chicago

Yes you should...Good jobs are hard to find now days....Your Girlfriend can always come visit and call....My Husband had to transfer to another job for about a year...He got an apartment there and I stayed home (I didn't want to quit my job). I would go visit every other weekend when he couldn't come home.It was like a vacation for us..Our little get away...It worked out fine . If it's temporary your GF should understand and stand by her man...

Leave her for a year and you will leave her for life. You will meet someone else in Chicago. Trust me, I live in Chicago. I know. There are a lot of single women here. Then even if you want to be attached to your girlfriend it won't happen. Do whatever you want but good luck.
