Since the person you want to send it to may not have Publisher, sending the .pub file is no good. As earlier replies said, a .pdf file is a good choice, since everybody can read .pdf files.

You don't need to buy expensive adobe acrobat to create a .pdf file. There are lots of inexpensive or even free programs to convert files to .pdf format

You could simply attach the Publisher file to the e-mail (look for the "paper clip" emblem in your e-mail interface).

Or, since many folks may not have Publisher and would therefore not be able to view your document, you could convert the Publisher file to PDF and e-mail the PDF document (attaching it in the same fashion). You need Adobe Acrobat Standard to create PDF documents, but anyone in the world can view PDF documents because Adobe releases PDF-reading software for free.

EDIT: [after seeing Computer Guy's response] Oh cool, I didn't know you could convert to PDF without Acrobat Standard. Go with the low-cost option.
