yes... i started taking yoga when i was thirteen... i also took pilates and it is a great tool to loose weight, relax, and get rid of stress. it can improve flexibilty. It will not hurt you because when you start out you want to start in a begginer class.... try to go to a professional and not use the at home dvds becasue you canot be sure if you are doing the moves right which could then cause problems. other than the dvds yoga is a great thing.

I started three months ago and I had no flexibilty and it's great. Your instructor will never push you too far, just relax and do what you can. It's a wonderful workout and great way to relax.
