Hi, I think that smart people do not necessarily have a better life. Since, they might be looked down on as being nerds- smarty pants. Additionally, smart people sometimes have a harder time being social since their always thinking with their brain. Also, it depends on what kind of smart you mean, a smart- quick witted person may have a good life getting along with people. However, all people have equally good lives, its what you make of it.

You could look at "smart" in many ways, either intellectually smart or common sense smart. Some people have one, some have the other, the ones that have both are the ones that are truly successful.
Personally, I believe that a "better life" is relative to the person. Some of the happiest people I've heard of come home to a small home smelling like garbage, some of the most miserable have everything in the world at their fingertips.

No. It depends on how hard they want to work. If they are willing to put more effort into it and meet the right people then that is a big step towards a better life.

I think it doesn't matter how smart you are, any one can have a great life. Its up to every person to make life what they want.
If you put the effort anyone can have a better life. Its lazy people who want a better life but don't go for it.

That depends on your definition of "a better life"
Many people who are mentally challenged live very fulfilling and happy lives.
And the opposite goes for genius' sometimes.
Beethoven drank himself to death, he was a genius.
Picaso shot himself
That guy from its a beautiful mind was seeing things.
Einstein would lock himself in a room for days on end.
Did they lead a good life? Its up for interpretation.

Not necessarily. "Better" is a matter of opinion. Here's a quote that I love:
"But once I had brains and a heart
and having had both, I would rather
have the heart to love with".
Supposedly, that was a quote form the Tinman in the Wizard of OZ.
Love is infinitely more important than brains!!

It's working for me.
Of all the possible assets, intelligence is the best because it allows you to adapt, and it's the only asset (as opposed to looks, strength, height, whatever) that gets better with time. If you look really good, you've only got so much time. The looks are gonna go.

Better in terms of less labor....Yes. Better in terms of less emotional distress...no. For instance, have you ever seen an unhappy Downs syndrome person/child?
