Because they are men. A commitment is not natural to a guy. Nature says you should spread as much of your seed as possible. It's only culture that steps in with all these rules and laws. That does not change biology.

Men have a tendency to age well - and so - the general feeling is what's the rush.
There are other factors as well - men are more visually stimulated than most women so if a girl doesn't snag someone while they are still hot then it will be much slimmer pickings later on. Women are typically not quite this shallow. (another reason we don't worry about it so much)
There are exceptions of course. We are all different.

I think there are a couple of reasons:
for some immature men: they want to sleep around and have variety. They won't admit to that but, it is true.
for others, I think that men are expected to be the protectors...the providers, the strong ones...that's a lot of responsibility and it takes a mature man to deal with that.
It's not hard for all men. And most of the time it really isn't about commitment. Men can be very commited to their jobs, their families, etc. They are really afraid of love.........and being hurt.

Because society dictates how men should be in a relationship and to be committed somehow shows weakness. It is a CHOICE that is made by men. There are women like this too.

It is not that they are scared, the y mostly want to have the freedom to do whatever they want and not have a woman to say if it is ok or not. If they commit that will be over and they are afraid of that. Not only that if they commit to a single person that also is saying that they will not be able to see other people also.

That would insinuate that women don't have the same kind of feelings. I think that all people have this feeling, it just comes down to timing. Some feel this early, others before they say I do. Quite honestly I believe that men feel it early and women a little later.

i really don't know i guess it is because some males want a steady present before a secure future which isn't a bad thing and it does take males a bit longer to commit to a relationship i guess because it's the way we are built i have trouble doing this because i have a fear of rejection so would other males but we don't talk about this (our softer side)
so if you are referring to your partner in this question give it time and talk about it with him but don't push the point and hopefully things will work out for you

Because committment can be a point of no-return. And if it gets to a point where the girl bails, that leaves the man unprotected to harsh consequences. Its basically peer pressure, I think.

Honestly, I don't believe they want to be rushed or pushed into anything anymore than we do. I know women coming up on 40 who have never been married and have no desire to be. They enjoy their freedom and not being accountable to anyone for anything other than themselves.....so it goes for both women and men.

Just to say....not all men are the same....just like some women seem to have that problem too. Generalisations....not good!
