Biggest thing about an essay - make sure it has structure. With that said, here are some points you can make:
1) Renting gives you flexibility to move out more quickly
2) Major repairs are the responsibility of the landlord, not the tennant
3) You don't need a down payment to rent, and you have lower monthly payments in the current housing economy
4) Legally, it is easier to evict a homeowner who stops paying mortgage than a tennant who stops paying rent
5) These days, it's possible that housing prices are maxing out and may decline - so renting prevents you from losing money by possibly buying at the market peak
6) If you are a homeowner and get a divorce, you are SOL. if you rent and get a divorce, you don't lose your home equity.
7) Not at risk if tax laws change and the government revokes the mortgage interest rate tax deduction
8) Some states (Massachusetts, for example) allow rentors to deduct a portion of paid rent from their taxes, but do not allow deductions for mortgage interest
Good luck!

Think of the pro's and cons. get at least 4 good points of each, and then write about your points ex: Renting Vs. Buying Pros are 1. It doesn't bind you to a certain place 2. It wont take forever to pay off your house 3. You pay bills/house payments in one fail swoop. Cons: 1. You can't change the house much 2. You might not be bale to own pets 3. Any damages can cost you a lot of money, and the land lord can sue you.

You are in luck. For years the price of houses has been steadily appreciating, so it has traditionally been financially advantageous to buy.
However, there is no guarantee that the price of houses will always go up. In fact, the economy is changing quite rapidly. Interest rates are going up, and houses are taking a lot longer to sell. I believe that you will actually see the price of houses decline, particularly in regions where they are highly overvalued.
If housing prices are declining, it may be financially advantageous to rent now and buy later.
Many realtors offer free rent/buy comparisons, but be careful, they have an interest in selling houses, and they may assume low interest rates and steadily increasing home prices.

You hear each and every thing your neighbor is doing possessing: a million. you're paying a great number of circumstances what you would pay for an homestead, yet appreciating value 2. you're the owner and characteristic to fork out any money for upkeep or upkeep 3. you may want to do in spite of you want with your position and characteristic in spite of type of pets. 4. you're required to have property proprietors coverage 5. You get extra peace and quiet usually on condition that there aren't any more human beings residing above, lower than, or on your aspects.

Okay... Pros for renting:
If something breaks you call the landlord and he pays for it and has to fix it.
If you rent an apartment there is no yard work, no snow shoveling, no watering...
If you need to move suddenly you only have to give 30 days notice and you are free to move about the country
and if you are really lucky you don't have to pay for water/sewer/trash removal...

Just say you're too poor and stupid to buy a house...therefore you have to rent a crappy apartment in the ghetto. At least it'd be true of you. Idiot.
