The reason you should drink more water is to help your body filter more effectively. It should not cause you to bloat unless you are eating things that cause you to retain water. An excessive salt intake will cause you to retain water. Consider this.

Sometimes keeping a food diary can help. Sometimes we don't remember how much we have snacked on during the day. The food diary can help you see if you are snacking excessively or help you see a bad habit.

If snacking is your problem you can look into a couple of options. You can cut down on your snacking or plan for healthier snacks. Don't drastically change your diet unless you know that you can stick with it. Otherwise you just gain all of the weight back because you go back to old habits. Just change a little at a time. Try having two "healthy meals" a week. Something as simple as having grilled food, instead of something fried.

Also, to lose weight you really need to do some type of exercise. Find something that you enjoy doing. You will be more likely to stick with it. Maybe walking, swimming, yoga, dance, aerobics. Just whatever you find interesting. If you bore easily you may want to try doing more than one thing. For instance, walking with friends on Monday and Wednesday, yoga on Tuesday and Thursday. The next week try dance on Mon. and wed. and aerobics or Tues. and Thurs.. You just have to find what works for you. The most important thing is to keep it fun and interesting. Take time and try some new things!

I hope these suggestions were helpful. Good luck and just keep the faith in yourself. You can do it. You just have to decide that you are ready to.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

Get started today!

No, the extra water flushes out water and sodium among other things such as toxins. Your body retains extra water when it isn't readily available. So by not drinking enough you are actually gaining water weight because your body is storing it. After 3-4 days of drinking enough your body will start to flush out the excess supply and you will see a weight drop of usually a couple pounds.

Yes, for a short term you'd gain extra weight. But after you urinate you'd lose the weight. Believe me, your body isn't going to hold on to the water, especially if you take in too much.

However, the drinking water deal in regards to losing weight is more or less hokey. Yes, your body does work hard to heat itself after drinking cold water. But the calorie burn is FAR less than 100 calories. I recently read a sports related article that stated if you drank 1 gallon of cold water a day for a year, you'd lose a whopping 6 pounds.

Sure everything helps in the long run, but I hate to see you guzzling water and wondering when you are going to look like a Men's Health cover model -- because it ain't gonna happen.

All in all, drink water... it's healthy, but don't have any overzealous expectations.

By saying, "drink water to lose weight," they actually mean, "Drink only water and don't eat at all and then you might lose weight if you don't pass out and get rushed to a hospital first".

And, no, you wouldn't gain "water weight", it'd just pass through you for the most part and drive your toilet insane.

Your body will maintain a balance. If you retain water to the extent of gaining weight, you may have another problem. Water will cleanse your body and allow you to be sure your "hunger" pains aren't simply thirst.

No, water helps flush your system. When you retain water, its because your body feels like it's dehydrating. Therefore it stores the water, to try and help keep your body hydrated. It's a defense mechanism.

No, your body needs water to function. If you are not drinking enough, you body stores water. If you are constantly drinking it your body know it doesn't have to store it and you don't get bloated.

what I understand behind this theory is that.. drinking water will cleanses you.. if you are wondering how.. when you drink water you pee a lot and if you are working out then you sweat a lot too. peeing & sweating are ways of getting red of unwanted things in your body.

at the same time when you drink water you are suppose to drink COLD water... the reason.... when you drink cold water.. the body temperature drops .. body has to work hard to bring it back to what the normal body temperature should be.. hence buring couple extra calories trying to maintian the body temperature
