I lost 105 pounds in 6 months. Here is how I did it.
1. Every morning get up and walk for 45 minutes. You can start with less time, but you want to get up to 45 minutes, and it must be fast walk. You want your heart rate to go up. It must be in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism.
2. I cut out Red Meat, and fatty foods. Boneless skinnless chicken breast, baked, or grilled, rice and vegetables (steamed).
3. Eat half. Just eat half of what you normally eat. Put 1/2 on your plate, and put the rest away. Cook less. When you go to fast food, get salads only. Or grilled chicken. No fries, diet soda. Or water.
It will work, once you get into a routine, you will get hooked on the results, and you will keep the routine. It has been over a year for me.

Does Slim-Fast Work?
Yes it does. Research has shown that the program has caused sustained weight loss in overweight men and women.
Study Results
People who followed The Slim·Fast Meal Plan routinely to lose and manage their weight were, on average, 33 pounds thinner after a decade as compared to a matched group from the same community who did not participate in the study. The community based study is among the longest studies ever to track people using a particular weight management approach.
*These findings were presented at the North American Association for the Study of Obesity in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, October 14, 2003. (reference: Blackburn GL. et al. Obesity Research 2003;11:A103)

It works in the sense you will lose weight..because you are drinking shakes instead of actual meals. In the short term, it can work. But, few people can keep to this diet because there is really no solid food..so..it doesnt work in the mid to long term. You should really eat small meals with lean meat and vegetables instead of just drinking Slim Fast. You can get all the nutrients that Slim Fast has..and you won't get tired of just drinking those shakes.

Slim Fast is not the answer. You must follow good basic eating habits. Low fat. No pop. Juice. Fruit. Good Carbs. Protein. You also must exercise. Drink plenty of water. Eat at least every three hours (increases metabolism)

It is a matter of calorie intake and exercise. Many frozen entrees have the same amount of calories and are far more satisfying
If you eat fast food get a smaller burger no cheese and a salad instead of fries. Just look out for high fat dressings.
Maintaining a healthy weight is common sense, and exercise.

I'm not overweight, but I used to drink it for breakfast because I'm too lazy to cook. I actually ended up gaining weight because I'd drink the SlimFast, and then still be hungry so I'd eat something. It only works if you really use it as a meal replacement and don't get incredibly hungry. Otherwise the calories are very unfulfilling and just make you hungrier.

It can work. Any diet will work if you stick to it. I know many people who have done slimfast, and by doing it correctly, have lost weight. The problem is, once you go OFF slimfast, the weight comes back on. The best thing to do is to change you eating/excercise so you can loose weight and then maintain the weight loss.

Yes, it does aid in weight reduction, but the products makers are the first to say that it must be part of a healthy exercise and diet regimen.
