No, it's perfectly okay and in fact it seems almost amazing that a glass of wine a day is very good for you.

Depends on who you ask and what your religion is.

I'm Christian and I don't remember any commandment stating "thou shalt not drink a glass of wine with dinner". Jesus drank wine at the last supper. But seriously, if you are an alcoholic, I would suggest to not drink, even with dinner. Alcohol is a drug and if it becomes an addiction that consumes your life then it becomes a sin. Almost anything in moderation!

12 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. 1 Corinthians 6:12
To answer your question, Yes and No. If you feel God is dealing with you about not doing something then it would be a sin to go ahead and do it .But if you have no conviction about drinking one glass of wine at dinner than don't worry. If you have to ask this question though maybe you already don't feel right about it. I'm not saying we can do all things, with no restraint, because if the Word of God says not to do something, like getting Drunk, (not one glass) then we already have our answer on whether or not to do a thing or not.

Great question!

Now...here are a couple things to think about.

1. Jesus drank wine. It was completely acceptable in that culture. So drinking wine in and of itself is not a sin. (Though getting drunk always has been).

2. Cultures view drinking differently. Some have different ages (18, 21, etc.). And there are some stigmas associated with drinking (drinking is bad, drinking is for drunks, only sinners drink, etc.). In the Midwest of America, for example, drinking is taboo. It is very much frowned upon! But in Boston, for example, it is completely acceptable for Christian leaders to drink!

So with those statements both said, you have to use wisdom. It is not a sin to drink. But at the same time, it can be dangerous. Remember when Paul said he would not do things if it caused someone else to sin? Have that attitude! I don't drink because I work with high school students! Could I? Definitely. I would love to! But I am joining with them in their fight against drinking.

Is that necessary for everyone? Nope. I can see a youth leader who drinks wisely (21 and older!) and uses that to teach high school students just as well. It just depends upon the situation. In a sense, it's like sex. A youth leader who has sex with his wife can teach high school students that it is best (and even more enjoyable!) to wait for your wife! Should he not have sex just because high school students should not? Not at all.

I hope these answers help! You will find out that oftentimes there are not "black and white" answers. Sometimes wisdom and judgment is fuzzy! But I think you can still use wisdom!

All the best!

It is not sin to have a glass of wine with dinner, but it is foolishness to get drunk with wine.(proverbs 20:1). Yes, a person can tell whether you are saved by watching your actions and by your confession.

I agree with just about everybody else's answers here, and since I like to think of myself as a Christian, flawed as I may be, and am just now finishing a glass of White Zinfandel wine I had with the wonderful dinner my wife just prepared, and I feel as close to God now as I did before dinner, I have to feel it is not a sin. Enjoy the wine moderately. Choose which you prefer, with which type meals, and enjoy a glass or two. I do believe it is helpful to your mind and body to have a glass now and then, so . . . here's to ya, young Christian woman. God Bless you.

No and I don't see any problem with drinking a glass of wine unless it leads to drunkeness.

Only if you are saved by some religion that bans alcohol. Quite honestly, I prefer to be saved by from such religions...since I worship at the altar of the wine gods:)
