Prep. time about 30 minutes or so.
Put a little cooking oil in a fry pan, sprinkle the shrimp with cajun seasoning, or blackened seasoning, or red Chyenne pepper, and lightly fry the shrimp until they turn pale white/pink. Be sure to add just enought of these seasonngs to taste as they are a little on the "spicy" side. Just a tad will add enough zip to make them tasty. Serve with any type rice. And for a veggie the miniture corn on cobs (canned) and fresh green/red/yellow bell pepper cut in bit sized pieces-microwaved together until bell pepper is tender. Serve with White wine and french bread (not garlic bread spices wouldn't mix). I'll be over around 7pm, I'll bring the french bread and wine!!!

You betcha. Here's a recipe that will make most people go "lobster... what's that?", especially if you use really large shrimp like 6-10 count...
De-vein two to three pounds of raw shrimp, but don't peel them.
Turn on your broiler to max.
Mix yourself a brine using a quart of vegetable stock (a good vegetable stock, like Imagine brand), a quarter cup of brown sugar, 1 t garlic powder, and 3 T soy sauce. Immerse your shrimp in the brine and allow them to soak for 35 minutes.
Remove your shrimp and pat dry. Do not rinse.
Line a half-sheet pan or cookie sheet with rock salt, and arrange the shrimp on top of the rock salt.
Place shrimp in the broiler until the shells turn pink and start to brown (literally just a minute or two), take out of broiler, turn shrimp over, and return to the broiler until the other side is also pink and beginning to brown (another minute or so). Watch the shrimp very closely. They can burn in a matter of seconds, so don't walk off on them.
Once that happens, remove the shrimp from the broiler, remove them from the cookie sheet, and allow them to cool down.
Then, peel and eat either by themselves or with your favorite sauce.
This cooking method concentrates their natural flavors in the shrimp, and prevents them from coming out "slimy" like they do with a lot of methods, such as steaming or boiling... and no, they don't end up overly salty, just perfectly seasoned.
If you're looking for a good recipe that contains shrimp, let me know. I've got a ton of recipes featuring shrimp, but this is the best recipe I've found to cook shrimp by themselves.

STEAMED
best way to eat shrimp, apart from scampi,
steam them in white wine with some chilli and garlic, but only for a few minutes.
in a large frying pan with a lid,(if you havent got that special thing --that is two hinged copper half globes)
wait for the wine to boil and start steaming.and you use only one glass of wine, add a little butter.for when the wine steams dry
SCAMPI--deep fried in batter(like kentucky fried chiken)
peeled shrimp,
dipped in a batter from flower and egg ,
and then deep fried in hot fat
